The Sarah Jane Adventures 4x03 & 4x04 "The Vault of Secrets" full reaction

"So many people feel awkward, even embarrassed, admitting to a close encounter. But we at BURPSS believe you should let it all out."

Great point about the differing viewpoints of aliens throughout the Whoniverse causing the skepticism. That definitely makes sense.

This is a really fun episode. The Men In Black Androids originate from The Doctor Who Dreamland special which I think you should watch purely to get a bit more context. I very much liked the comedy, Mr Dread and Sarah Jane's dilemma in trying to save Androvax's species. :) The timing of you seeing The Doctor break out of Judoon prison in the recent special and Androvax breaking out of a Judoon prison in this episode is rather funny. They definitely need to improve their prisons. :) Regarding the whole alien thing, this series takes place after Series 5 which is when the cracks in time take place so presumably at this point, alien invasions in the RTD era were rebooted or assumingly in the process of being repaired (as the universe gets rebooted at the end of Series 5). Haresh and Gita still remember their encounter with the Judoon and Androvax as do Sarah Jane and co which implies that most of the cracks have been rebooted at this point. Although there is some leeway here now that we know organisations such as The Men In Black were involved in erasing people's knowledge of alien encounters hence Ocean Water's backstory, it makes lack of alien life awareness a bit more plausible with this factor of Mister Dread wiping the minds of people. Mix that all up with some people denying alien existence, some people being mentally affected by it (as seen in Torchwood), people keeping it secret, news reports and governs covering it up (Series 1), conspiracy theories and such and then we get a whole load of conflicting viewpoints with aliens so I guess the continuing scepticism isn't entirely without justification. But at this point with this show and its universe, we know its part of human nature to forget about things and move on which I believe was a thing in the Classic series too (but people forgetting about the Daleks in the new Revolution special still bugs me lol). "Aliens are a known thing when the plot needs them to be" - This varies quite a lot in Doctor Who. You get that in shared universes sometimes (even with DC and Marvel) when the heroes try and get away with people not believing in aliens/super heroes even though they've been around for centuries (but in this case its more of making sure none of the locals find out that they're the real heroes that save the day). I'm trying to find a way to properly make sense of it because it becomes a bit of mess when you think too much about it. That's why I have a bit of an issue with the time cracks. But regarding this episode, there wasn't much denial of aliens here other than Gita when she had her mind wiped. When it came to Ocean, I feel like she was more upset than nobody believed her about her abduction more so than alien existence (even though her organisation was founded on proving alien existence). Haresh didn't deny alien existence but he still found BURPSS silly for obvious reasons lol This actually makes me wish we developed Ocean's story more as I feel like they were developing something deeper with that but it felt like they didn't have enough time to showcase it more which leads to her being awkwardly shuffled offscreen. You can tell even Sarah Jane felt bad about lying to her about having her mind wiped haha. I like how you immediately noticed the similarities that BURPSS had with LINDA. Now that's a crossover waiting to happen. We can totally get a Big Finish audio of that lol. Luke's actor (Tommy Knight) was in a similar situation to Maria's actress where he decided to concentrate on his education as it noticeably started to affect his involvement in the show as seen in some Series 3 episodes. Glad you're warming to Clyde and Rani's thing. :)

This episode was one of the best episodes so far because they were peaceful aliens before their planet turned to a ball of ice. He only raged because he had no one left what should he do. Obviously not destroy 12 planets, but he did have a lot of pain but after realising some of his people survived he was so much more peaceful. He did know the planet would be destroyed I love how he asked Sarah Jane "Will you still help, when the rebirth of my civilization means the end of yours?" I found partially clear that she wouldn't help. I understand your reasoning when you say she is more forgiving and willing to give aliens a chance so far I have only seen this is 3 episodes Prisoner of the Judoon "It was an alien not a monster, aliens their just like you but.." Another in "Enemy of the bane" Sarah trusting Miss Wormwood with the scroll of Horath as if she will stop the bane taking over the galaxy when she wants to, And The gift. The Blathereen well technically the Slithen Blathereen cause the Blathereen are "Nothing but middle management." I think she is actually hoping for an alien that wants to help Earth. But it's not every episode besides 2 of those 3 the link to doctor who is the same there might be some later but no spoilers.
