New Combat Magic Test

This Test includes some changes to the way magic drawing/channeling works, and a few additional spells.

Holding Q will pull magic from the environment and have it begin to circle around you.  The previous test had the magic naturally occuring, but this seemed to make the system moot according to feedback.

I've also updated the spell book to contain all the spells currently in the game, and how to cast them.

I'm using the demo area of a PREBUILT ruined town set for the map, as it fit what I wanted for the test, and was easy to adapt.  This way there is less stuff leading up to that combat.


Please let me know if you like the magic system, or if you feel like its not enough spells, over complicated, boring, etc.

I definitely plan on having all the menus navigatible from the keyboard or a controller. It just takes a bit longer to set up, so for the sake of brevity I held off on it. A cheat sheet of some sorts (like an index) definitely sounds like a good idea.

Kind of. I do like the new setup with the magic spellbook and descriptions but at the beginning I found myself thinking 'How do I cast this again?' and was clicking to find it. Speaking about clicking, I think turning pages with arrows on the keyboard or with A and D would also help. Maybe that cheat sheet could be like some sort of table of contents? Drawing elements from the surroundings is really cool. Gives me this elementalist/druid vibes.

I think that one additional page with spells and their names woould be good. Like a cheat sheet to take a look at for quick casting, after you read the descriptions.
