April 21st Weekly Update

Happy Easter if you celebrate it!  

This week I finished up all the costume stuff I can for the village girl.  I want to have a disheveled version of her clothing, and I've made some rough geometry for it, but I'll have to wait until I have it in Unreal Engine and see how it interacts with the cloth system.

Finished up the little details on the third dual hobgoblin interaction, just need to make the climax for that, which should be able to be done this coming week, and then it can be put in game.


I added some logic for enemies to detect incoming attacks.  I'd like to have them block and dodge attacks as they see them, and this logic is the first step.  Hopefully it will work out with different enemies doing different types of blocks/dodges, and the player trying to use the attacks that will best fool them.

I'm going to simplify spell casting, and as such I've removed the old system.  I'm going to rework it into a better menu system for selecting abilities.


People have finally been asking for a shield spell, and I've been working on that as well.  The plan is to have a held and pressed version, the held is like a block, where the pressed will act more like a parry which needs to be better timed.  I already have the animations for it, I just need to finish the logic and effects.
