This week I had planned to do some animations, but I got sidetracked with some more environmental stuff.
First, I wanted a kinda entry way into the forest, so I made a few trees to kinda act as a door way. I'm not very experienced with making trees, and they have their own challenges. These turned out okay, but I will likely tweak them in the future!

I also worked on a pond/lagoon area, as I want there to be a way for Meridiana to clean herself up. This led down a rabbit hole of water effects.
It was bothering me not having effects for moving it water, so I've put together a system for ripples on the surface.
The blueprint detects any character, and as long as that character is moving, will make a ripple particle at their position on the water surface every so often. (Currently about 3 ripples per second seems to look fine). I even have it set so that when the character stops moving, it waits a second or so before stopping the ripples.
It doesn't look perfect, there are some problems with refraction depending on the angle you view it, but it looks pretty passible.

I also added some fake caustics to the bottom of the pond(Which probably should be turned off at night), and some mist for the waterfall(Which is probably a bit too strong right now)

I even went in and added an underwater postprocess effect.

So suffice to say I think I've got water stuff mostly covered at this point, and NOW maybe I can get back to doing some animations!
As always I'd love to hear any comments or questions!
Thank you for your support!
