April 2nd Weekly Update

This week I made the switch over to Unreal Engine 4.15.  After seeing some of the upcoming 4.16 features I'm going to really want to use, I knew I'd have to deal with the changed Tonemapping and Post Processing at some point, so I went ahead and did it now.


I also set up so that when a charmed enemy starts getting frisky, as in the above image, it will eventually lead to sex.    I'm thinking about taking away the player's ability to trigger the sex events with the monsters, and instead wait for them to happen, but I'd have to test it out a bit first!


I've also added a targeting reticle that appears over whatever monster/object is currently targeted.  I'm planning on using this to replace the highlighted effect, as I'm not really liking the look of it.


Outside of this, there were a few bug fixes that caused some hangups, and took some of my time!

I like the idea of having the monsters eventually getting too horny to wait and making her have sex, especially with the larger monsters. I think it works well with the idea that she did seduce them after all, they aren't helping her and following her around cause they are buddies....they want some pussy. So it makes sense that eventually, they are not going to wait. Although, I do think it should still be optional as well for the player. Maybe there would be different affects on her afterward depending on how the sex was instigated. Also, maybe with some guys, if she starts it, they have casual intimate sex, but if they grab her, its a little more dominant, nothing aggressive or too rough, but just a more of a case where the monster is in total control.

Sorry for asking this on the wrong post, but does anyone know how to get the fishmen back on the training stage in the newest build? Also, does the lighting have to be rebuilt by Mithos, or is there a fix for it?

I'd prefer it if you kept the ability for the players to activate the sex scenes. Too few action porn games have it as a reason for players to lose on purpose, rather than an incentive to play well. It'll be a nice way to set yourself apart from all of the rest (aside from the awesome cartoony 3D style).

I love the idea of a reticule. Should be a lot clearer, but please don't take away the players ability to trigger events. All too often H games use sex as a punishment instead of a reward which makes no sense. Players will play to WIN as well as see sex scenes. I think player triggered sex events should be empowering and recover health. Sex events triggered by frisky monsters should not be detrimental to the player, but potentially inconvenient during battle. That represent a minion management challenge without being annoying or infuriating

Depending on how complex you wanted it to get, you could have levels of struggle between her and the goblin. Maybe at first he's just humping, next he's undoing her belt, then finally taking off a larger piece of clothing before you go into the full on sex animation.

What ever you do in the end just know that the art looks great. I laughed a little with her pushing the head down and the gobby is still going.

Completely removing the ability to control it may indeed be too frustrating for people looking for a porny game. Maybe you could have a system where charms wear off over time, and when they do, the monster will enter a unique "frisky" state where they do sex moves instead of standard attacks. You could then give players the ability to intentionally break a charm spell in order to immediately get a monster frisky. So if you wanted to play normally and charm a monster, you just charm them. If you wait too long to send them off or kill them, they snap out of it and go into horny mode and Benny Hill around with you. This would also prevent players from amassing a zillion followers since every charmed enemy is a ticking time bomb of sorts. If you just want to get frisky, you charm them, then immediately uncharm them. Then you just let em go for it. I don't know what your grand plans are for how sex will work in the game, but something along those lines might be a good balance of giving the player *some* ability to knowingly inintiate sexy times, but still feel like it's ultimately up to the monsters to actually inititiate it and to be wary of them when playing "seriously."

While I'm not totally in favor of removing the players input on the sex scenes I do think it could be an appropriate penalty in other circumstances. Like if you're looking to have some sort of debuff from an enemy or the like. But when it comes to the mechanics of charming it seems like it would defeat some of the purpose if the play had to wait rather than giving the choice to them.
