October 16th Update

This week I focused on getting the Ogre more fleshed out, and also started adding physical animation to the enemies.

Starting with the physical animation, this will end up saving me a lot of animation work. Instead of having to make hit reactions for all the characters from all the directions, I just have to apply a force to the right body part to simulate that action.

For knocking enemies back, I can go from a complicated system of checking of animations to activating and deactivating ragdoll physics at certain times.

Some of the animation might not look quite as good as well thought out manual animations, but with 4 hit animations and 2 knockback animations for each character, this will end up saving me lots of time!



It took me a little while, but I was able to finally find what the Ogre is supposed to look like. While he still needs his finishing touches, overall I got the look I wanted for him. When I read about ogres in fairy tales and folklore, they're often described as just large humans. I tried going that route, kinda giving him an oversized head and meaty hands. I'm not gonna show a size comparison yet, but he's a big boy!


Right now he's got the sandels on, and I'll probably end up making him barefoot. Also, I doubt he'll be wearing a hat, I just like making hats.

This project has been up for a while, and hasn't slowed down. The risks of it being dropped are pretty small, plus not to mention the constant replies to comments.

You can't interact with the demon yet, she's just for show right now. Yeah the forest area is what the build covers.

Saving time is good, I fully endorse this! just pledged after seeing your work, please don't let me down. To many great idea's out there, but no follow through.

I hope there would be at least 3 or 4 variants of female enemies as well. (less idea more just ramble) Stealth is usually a nice aesthetic feel, but balancing a decent difficulty (extremely difficult but more "rewarding")with it is a hard one to pull off. My advice, being the guy that spent too many hours on MGS getting the pacifist ranks, I recommend making it extremely difficult. Challenge us as much as possible. It will lure people in for more than what we expect.

just quick question when u start the game u start in a forset area with demon women at bridge is there anyway to talk to her also is the forsest area the only content available as i have killed everything and just running round the map trying to figure out what to do next lol

You missed your calling as a TF2 hat designer :) The ogre looks good, her concept costume looks even better!

Maybe at some point down the line. The problem is they take a LOT of time.

I like the idea of the complicated animations. I miss the static death animations. They were highly entertaining. I hope you bring them back and continue to make more. Any chance you could bring the static death animations back where appropriate?

It's stuff like this that makes me want to upgrade the pledge.... Done!
