August 21st Weekly Update
Added 2016-08-21 05:30:02 +0000 UTCThis isn't a picture heavy update, sorry!This week I focused on getting the tentacle trap working. If an enemy walks on the trap, tentacles will whip up through the portal and do massive damage to them.
The next step is to have the traps also spring to life when Meridiana steps on them, but I need to work out how long I'd like the animations to be, and if I can make it multistaged.

While I haven't worked out how I want the combat to work exactly, one thing I would need either way is strafing and combat animations for walking forward and backwards, so I went ahead and got those animated then added as well. No screenshots, cause they really aren't that exciting.
The bigger thing I wanted to focus on is first a giant THANK YOU for the support I'm getting, I really appreciate your trust and confidence. Your feedback as also been vital to help me get new ideas, fix things, and keep me motivated as well!
With the amount of support I'm getting, I think I'm in a position where I don't have to take on almost any other work outside this project, and so I want to make sure I'm devoting as much time as possible to that. One of the things that helps me with that is streams. Though I don't normally announce them, I do occassionaly (once a week or so) stream what I'm doing on Picarto. Outside of the private streams I should be doing based on the patron goals, so I want to make sure I'm doing regular streams more then once a week.
When I do stream its generally about 3-5 hours, usually in the late afternoon eastern time. For people interested in watching me stream, what would be the best times for you, and maybe I can put together some type of schedule! Right now I'm thinking maybe four days a week, with a weekend day thrown in on occasion! But I'd love to hear your feedback on them.

2016-08-21 18:02:01 +0000 UTCI really wish I could pledge but I can't, the quality you put out by yourself is honestly unbelievable. All I can really do is wish you luck with this project. If I may be so bold, one annoyance I have with the latest demo is that the enemies can notice you and attack, even when you slowly walk up behind them. Maybe remove the detection hit box from behind completely, or you can add a third movement speed that acts as a sneak, where you aren't detectable from behind no matter how close you are. Right now I have to walk behind them very carefully, because the area where I can sneak attack is very small, and if I go closer they realise I'm behind them. On the topic of movement, will you add controller support at some point? I don't mean to be pushy, it's just a suggestion. I think it would be a good idea since it would allow you to control your movement speed depending on how far you push the analog stick. I don't know how difficult that would be to implement though, don't feel pressured. Again, you're amazing and I'm sorry I can't pledge.
