May 15th weekly update

This week I focused on a new mechanic, and a new level!


I wanted there to be some downside to having sex, as killing enemies and healing the player can be a pretty big advantage. As such, after sex, Meridiana suffers from a post coital high.




Besides the visual effect(which I do want to tweak so that drives the point home without being annoying.), this will also affect her stats including aim, magic power, and spell costs. While how much it affects these things will need to be fine tuned, the idea is that she has less control, and spends more magic to cast more powerful spells, but with less accuracy and efficency.




With all the sexual energy still freshly stirring around inside her, this post coital bliss may also randomly trigger another orgasm for Meridiana, leaving her to writhe loudly for a short period of time. This may end up leaving her exposed or the sound notifying a nearby enemy. I do realize that this could impact game play a bit, so I will be looking into duration of the animation, IF and how loudly it notifies enemies, and the chance of it happening to make sure it isn't going to consistently bite you in the ass.





I'm trying to move towards a proper demo, and as such I've started laying out a forest level. Its still very early at this point, but I hope to have a little bit of a larger environment, with an actual goal and a few things to do.

I agree. I think with the whole fantasy setting and Meri's body proportions being a bit unrealistic (in a good way). It would make sense and be hot if she got also got fucked by some monsters with "slightly unrealisticly big dicks". Nothing crazy huge to the point where it just looks absurd. Also, you can be more expiramental with length versus girth and still look reaonable...relatively speaking. For example, I certainly wouldn't mind seeing some big muscular ogre with a 16 inch meat pole try and stuff it in her. He might not be able to go balls deep, but doesn't mean it won't be fun to see him try.

Loving the animations + the potential downsides being added. potential cues to when such an alamring sudden orgasm arrives could be helpful though potentially could let the player also remove/add the function before the game starts (sorta like a difficulty selection?) This looks like such a massive improvement from the first demo I plated. I like the idea of random orgasm thing you mentioned. I know it's an annoying question but when do you think the new demo will come out with the new enemies and area... I'm looking forward to this.

Love the animations! Also, echoing the idea that unknowable randomness is usually frustrating. As long as you give the player enough information to make informed gameplay decisions, things should be cool. If you're going to go with messing with players' aim, I think it should designed in such a way that a skilled player could learn how to work with it or around it and still be reasonably accurate (as opposed to raw RNG that just sprays spells around).

I like the idea of the post coital high, but I think the animation of her being high, is too "dopey" and far from cute. I think a "blissful" high would be sexier, instead of the 10/10 high it looks like right now :). Love the random orgasm animation (and all your other work!).

I'd like to second the idea for some kind of meter to give you an idea of how close Meri is to making a mess of herself and alert enemies. Also, I'd like to suggest that you consider something similar to the detection ring from MGS4 so that you have a good idea as to enemy positions without pin-point accuracy on their location. I can't count how many times I accidentally blundered into one of the blue guys because I couldn't really hear him coming. And maybe a wall grip mechanic? Just a few thoughts, all that aside keep up the great work, I'm glad I decided to support you!

My main concern is that something left totally to chance in a stealth game will undoubtedly be a source of frustration for many players regardless of how much you tweak it. Randomness in game design should be avoided at all costs and what you're going for here is pretty easy to keep within a more structured style. For example: make the visual effects/stat modifiers increase the more she has sex within a certain amount of time. Since spells will cost more magic players will likely be forced to have more sex anyways so you're just amplifying the risk reward system in a way that's easy to understand and won't penalize players all that much. Subsequently the uncontrollable orgasm idea, while nice, is really something that needs to be signposted. Either with visual cues like Meri slowing down and sensually rubbing her body, or with a meter like Eric said. Something that will give the player a degree of control over the situation. That way if they're screwed over by the sudden climax they'll only have themselves to blame. Making it totally random is kind of counter intuitive. As always these are just my opinions. Everything's looking lovely Mithos!

Awesome idea. I really like the post sex high. A)Because it's a clever game mechanic. B) Because she looks really cute biting her lip and swaying like that. I also think the uncontrollable orgasms afterward are a really good idea. Really sexy to see and hear her cumming. The previous post is smart. Making a meter that dictates her likely hood to orgasm would be a good way to give the player more control.

Glad to see a real level is starting to take form! Have you considered using an arousal meter for the post coital effect? With something like that in place so the player could see how close Meri is to boiling over, they could make strategic decisions on how to approach and use the enemies.
