Player Identity & More! #37

Hello and welcome to your Little Saturday news corner! Fancy some tea, and milk or sugar?

We’ll straight up start by exploring a loving home in the heart of town. This week’s stroll begins by venturing the gardens of this little cottage with it’s well tended flowers and short trimmed grass. As you can see the small shrubs from yesterday now also have a blooming version, so you can add even more colour to your paths. More than that, you’ll now be able to place lanterns around your garden so you can better watch where you’re stepping! To accompany your yard infrastructure, a garden faucet and bird fountain have joined the party. Tulips and daffodils are also available for the taking (or careful handling), as you can add them to your interiors or external grounds.

Entering the living room, you can see a little exercise station with yoga mats, stepping blocks and dumbells, because the body achieves what the mind believes! ᕦ(⩾﹏⩽)ᕥ Exercise is fine, but since sometimes all we want is to just potato around you can get bean chairs and armchairs as well to place around your house. Also, well, since you’ll soon be moving into your home here in LSW, we’ve prepared your luggage and bulletin board to store all your memories, old and new!

Now you know we’ve been talking a lot about food around here lately, so how about this next image: a professional-grade kitchen where you can star your own cooking show! Personally this kitchen is a dream come true, aside from the sophisticated furniture we’ve already shown in previous updates, we’ve worked real hard on all these pots and pans to give that homely feel we get when we see a well furnished kitchen. Also let’s not forget about the new mixology kit, for all you drink alchemists!

A bit more from development, we’re finally unveiling to you all the secret new attribute system! So here’s how it goes: every character will have 6 Identity attributes, among which you’ll be able to distribute points and improve your character whichever way you want. Do you want to be a jack-of-all-trades? Sure let’s do it! Would you rather be the most courageous person in town tho? Feel very much welcome to do so! As you can see this opens many roleplay and game design possibilities, hope you like this one.

For this next one, please if you will let’s turn left here towards our animation section, where we zoom into the life of this unassuming citizen, a “little did they know” type of thing, to show our running and walking animations! Walking is nothing new but we’ve tweaked ours up a bit and added running to the table, so remember to put on your sneakers before leaving the house!

One of the staples of beautiful London, the red double-decker bus has now arrived into the game, with animations and functioning lights. You can see how responsive our fleet is with their ABS brakes and all, but you should still look both ways before crossing the street.

The physique attribute will be more of an interest ingame where you can go to the gym and level. Identity and interests are different... interests are like cooking and gardening whereas your identity are more your overall core stats! Interests allow you to specifically unlock recipes for example for cooking but being 'smart' will allow you to in general gain exp slightly faster.

Well the maximum level is 10, so most likely your starting attributes will be fairly low but you can improve them over time ^_^

The idea is you can level these identities later when you're in the game but they are quite hard to level, they are different to player interests, which are your hobbies like cooking etc ~

Oh, and please, please detail how these attributes interact in game. How do attribute checks work mechanically? How do 'contests' work when two characters pit these attributes against each other in a contest? For example, would I pit Charm against Smart to try to seduce another character? And I see no Strength attribute, would it be Health or Energy? This just opens so many awesome possibilities.

Terry the Attribute system is amazing. I design role playing games and this is right up my alley. It looks like, if I am seeing it right, you start with a 1 in each attribute, and distribute 12 points to create your avatar? So am I to assume the average is a 3, and 1 and 2 would be below average, and 4+ is above average?
