A lot of overall improvements! #Week 29

What a cold month it has been in Cambridge, I hope you're all keeping warm ._.

Oh yes the furniture store is entirely finished now. After a lot of deliberation and discussion, I felt that something simple and clean does the job well. This also allows for some randomised stock of items to be in which is nice and the overall layout is now slightly different. This store took what I felt like was forever, but it's now finally done v.v sorry it took so long!

The bank WIP is here, this is a place where you can deposit your money to get daily interest, as well as trade the stock market if you have internet connection ~ all entirely optional of course! Further features will be revealed a bit later on ~

As I mentioned last week, the police car as well as the garbage truck would be finished and here they are ~ ! Two car I did miss out on last week that I should have mentioned is the ambulance and lorry (strictly speaking not 'cars?')! So this means that next week all the cars should be very closely entirely finished which is supppper exciting because we can finally move on to other stuff x.x who knew cars would take such a long time, but it's okay because we are nearing the end! 

The UI remake has been continuing (some not shown here just yet), I felt that vertical stack of furniture cards are more functional and also cuter than the horizontal cards so we have rearranged the UI somewhat. There's a tutorial UI as well as loading screen animations which we have just finished. I think for the pre-alpha, all the UIs should be all finished in their entirety which is very nice so no placeholders or anything from the main menu to the save files etc. Of course, expect improvements regardless of polish since we will keep working on things that's not 100%!!! (More on the pre-alpha soon, I think around Mid Feburary I will give more exact details on what will be included in that as well as probably a live stream discussing the state of the game for the pre-alpha)

Apologies for the furniture that looks literally like furniture taken from a horror film lol. I mean damaged furniture is fine but it was never supposed to look this scary. We will be reshading some of the furnitures I am feeling bad reshowing the same ones over and over with only small adjustments. We have found a way of using shaders to do automatic damage on furnitures so this means we will not have to draw each sprite separately soooo then it will save a lot of time. Oh yes, I do realise that our old mailboxes were American so I've added in now (or beginning to add) more British style mailboxes but I will still be allowing American style mailboxes just to give more choice. Both are super cute so I hope to see them all in the game. Also obviously I need to add baths into the game as well uhmmm, I'll be making sure that's there soon :3

Stuff we also did do that is not here (may show later):
- Tutorial UI
- Roof improvements on outlines
- Passing out, fainting and also getting up animations
- Loading screen animation
- Item damage automatic shaders
- Overall weather system improvements (windy, sunny, etc)
- A couple more clothing, added more shoes finally

Yes its sort of one step at a time I think with stuff like this... nevertheless I think the progress is good!

For sure! I think the main thing is to have every building with meaningful gameplay, I just remember being sad on the Sims since some of the places were very optional to visit since everything was already available in the house...

This is a tough one ~ it might be a while before I'm sure how it will go, because the next tooltips I'll be working on are tooltips on mouseover ~ chat dialogue will have to wait a little while after march since it won't be in the earliest version of the game - the main focus will be build mode

Oh looking good especially the garbage truck! Also I'm just wondering how the dialogue box would be like? Will it be like Stardew Valley with a portrait box on the side? If it's still WIP that's fine ^_^

You’re 100% right the bank tiles are mediocre. It’s just not thought out well enough so I’ll be pushing on this hopefully next week with an update

Nice work,loving all of this! My eyes are not enjoying the black and white tiles of the bank though. Not sure why, just that it gave me a headache :( Have to be careful in any game I play on how I decorate the houses or my characters.

I really love the designs for the Police Car and the Garbage Trucks! Also, I'm glad you're making the library an important place to go for books and accessing the internet with better PCs.
