Help shape the direction of Battleforged!

Hey everyone! Thanks so much for continuing to support Battleforged. I'm grateful to you all, humbled that you've all stuck around for this long, and I'm excited for Eric's future and your part in shaping his tale!

I always try to be true to my characters and my sense of their flow, but I think I've reached a solid point in the story where Eric's adventures could evolve in all sorts of interesting ways. I'd love your feedback on what you would like to see happen in Eric's (and possibly Bunz's?) Future!

PS - Feel free to click on as many options as you like! (A few are clearly contradictory but who cares? Click them all, I say!) I'll try to craft a fun arc incorporating the choices below.

I’d vote for the mist ridge hosting arena alliance fights with territory gambling if it wasn’t the centerpiece. It would be a great graduation year item, or an annual one time event and non lethal, due to some of the ancient monsters that will attend… maybe even the Emperor’s family or he himself! I’d bet it wouldn’t be deaths cup of tea.

Killing off BunBun might be a bridge too far. It could make Eric snap and get really dark. BunBun, and to a lesser extent, Lily need to come back.

Maybe not completely powerless but without malice the administrators must have lost a lot of power and should be a lot less involved and probably very scared of Eric now.

Need to get rid of those pesky goblins for good. Seems a thing for some worthy Silvers to do! Earth needs some consolidation and faction cleanup. School for Eric seems like it ought to be a part time basis. Way too much on his plate. Bunz is a familar, she should be able to come back, but not as a holocaust bunny. Those cores gotta go, replace with something better for the pair.

I just think a school arc makes the most sense. Malice messed quite a bit with Eric‘s build, and the fight forced him down a very narrow path concerning his necromancer skills. So a chance to fix his build and become more balanced just makes sense

BunBun actually being dead doesn’t make sense no matter how you want to stretch it unless you are choosing to retcon the given rules you established of the copy’s existence. You’ve firmly established that one soul can’t exist in two bodies, and the earth instance of BunBun that Eric summoned was a copy of the real BunBun (has no actual soul) according to you.

That or he goes full Doom Slayer.

The cute sidekick must never die. It’s a rule. Like the dog never dies. Unless you are John wick. Poor John. The universe would (should) not survive Eric going John wick. I see Eric in a field of corpses, slowly crushing the last enemy. “Gasp why?” “You killed my bunny” crunch.

There were a lot of ugly folks at his first trial... before the shift that still exist. Time to root them out of squash them permanently.

Definitely looking forward to Eric curb-stomping some more bad guys and transforming some awesome new territories with his Boons. With Malice out of play, maybe he can actually take a moment to enjoy some of the fruits of his labors... or not! What new foes will Eric face on his journey? How will they challenge him? I look forward to seeing the results.

Just going to leave this here. Just my thoughts on it. I am trying to avoid spoilers here, but I look forward to Lily evolving. I think it would be interesting if she went through iterations to get to a more humanoid form. Not animalistic or tawdry bunny girl stuff, she's more of a hare anyway, but not dissimilar to a weak to strong form for her. Eric has already been doing much the same but his feels more like introspection and self realization. Recognizing what he always was. For instance; https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Harengon You might also find some inspiration in mythology; https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Mythological_rabbits_and_hares Though I think most apropos would be the Jade rabbit here. Would be neat if she evolves alongside Eric. Same with his regular troops. He's already getting elites that you can zone in on and eventually he need not be everywhere at once. He's like a grey Jedi. You don't use him on a fetch quest to go after a single droid. For the slice of life I would be interested to see maybe like a Skyrim mages expedition. Some primal anthropology could be really cool. There's a lot of potential to the concept as is. As for the direction of the arc. You can do it all. Just have segments of slice of life put in here or there that foreshadow events. I didn't want spoilers but Eric in a multidimensional school that intersects everything. That alone bears some interesting possibilities. Is he like prime Eric? Compressed down all the versions of himself here? There's plenty of ability to just pass through a doorway and end up in an odd place. The nature of the primal and how he will overcome that as well as how it will affect his arts are most interesting to me. Necromancy after you've achieved bringing the dead back to life is then like bio punk stuff. But there's also more. Souls for instance. In some works, including yours, some use souls to create powerful works. I think that it's high time Eric gets a homunculus or golem companion. Last time I read he was accidentally raising refrigerators. I think him being able to be kind of a modern pioneer of necromancy. You kinda side step the anatomy stuff and also don't. If I were Eric I'd be interested in reconciling modern understanding of genetics, biology, and other disciplines with his art of necromancy. I imagine that much is lost or not clear on the real practice as things like a morticians work could be and often was misconstrued as necromancy historically.
