Spook’s Progress Posting #3 – Wet, Wet, Wet!

Howdy, rowdies! It’s another week through things already, huh? Where does it all go? Ah, what really matters is what we turned that time into this week, and once again it’s a happy day in the beWilderverse, I’m delighted to type. Let’s take a look (if you haven’t already scoped out the header image above…) and let me tell y’all all about how much closer we are to hitting play on the new .exe!

So how did week 3 go?

Goal: I set myself the goal of tackling as much of the most detailed, most exciting scene of the version at last, aiming for 15-18 CGs at least and getting 75% through what I had left on it after an early start at the end of last week.

Accomplished: Once again I managed to outdo my own expectations, finishing a total of 21 CGs, almost capping off our 2nd of 3 version scenes.

They say 3rd time’s the charm, but to me this is officially a streak now, 1 I hope to be able to keep going and going. I’m delighted to have broken the 20+ CG barrier for the first time, but there’s more to talk about and see than just that. We also got the Public Teaser out and it was 1 of our most liked posts in a long while. I’ll show y’all a little more tease from that same scene below, but first let’s see the progress bars as the look now as we take a week’s big jump forward.

For the 2nd week of these modest little graphics, I thought it’d be nice to add another layer to the bars, so at a glance we can all see not only the overall progress but the delta between this week and the last. We likey? Also, since we’ve got the Public Teaser released by now, I feel more comfortable in discussing the details with y’all as I’ve set the expectations for the path ahead already. This version we’re looking at 103 CG if all the gameplays end up included, so that’s the denominator we’re working with above. Every % is almost exactly 1 CG equivalent. In fact, the real totals are actually +1, since rounding off x/103 bring the number down by 1 in most cases.

Yes, this week was a smashing week overall. Despite the scene I’m working on being rather involved, it’s exciting and inspiring both too. I found myself hitting a groove and getting through things both steadily and sharply, which was great. We’re now over not only the halfway mark but 60% too, which means I’m hoping to keep this pace and get through the rest of the back half of version CGs in the next 2 weeks, completing the top bar and the biggest 2 overall tasks of the 5.

Another interesting thing about this week was that Wednesday I was AFK for the whole day due to personal reasons, which gave me a chance to put in some practice/learning with Batch Rendering. For those that don’t know, that’s add-on software that auto-manages a string of images to render back-to-back. That’s why the Rendering bar overseen by Kriem there took an unexpected jump up, even with all the other progress going on, and since I had the images made I could Post-Pro them and up Frankie’s bar too. About 1/3 of the images I set up had to be rejected because of errors and 1 CG due to my own mistake, so it was a good learning experience already (going to rely on Batch Rendering a lot in the future, I’m sure), but 2/3rd made it through and we knocked a half a day or more off the wait at the end of the cycle. Woo-hoo! I’m just 1 CG render away from having that Noe-Damon office scene extension fully ready to add to the game, plus a the teasers of Kriem and Kelsey we’ve seen in hand too…

… Speaking of! It’s time to do less talking and more gawking!

I pretty much covered most of what I want to say for this week above, any more is just rambling on about minutia, and if we’re going to navel gaze, we might as well do it on some sexier stomachs than mine! And I’ve got just the 2!

Never 1 to miss a chance to show off or make a boy’s shorts cling more snuggly for the sport of it, this felt like something worth dangling for y’all. To tell the truth, it gets even spicier than this, way more, and I’m having enough fun making it all pop off the page and onto the screen that I’m smiling almost as much as “Pinkie” there. Noemi on the other hand, she’s right to be worried about what any lucky voyeurs might spy next.

This image is from my earlier half of the week. Given it was a car washing contest, there was of course a few shots of the girls getting in suggestive positions with sponges and rags to build up to the good stuff, but y’all will be happy to know too that by the time you get to the mid-point of the scene it’s already gotten sexier than what you see today. I for 1 hope that’s really saying something too, because look at them girls! So hot!

1 last bit of news on the topic of this scene: The Public Teaser threw up a bit of helpful feedback, as Unshi saw it and had a tip or 2 to pass along about my first crack at things. If you contrast and compare Kelsey here and from there, you might notice something about her that’s different (hint, her, not anything she’s wearing or doing…). Thanks to his help in digging up an improved version of her from the files I’ve been able to make sure we’ve got her looking her best for this scene. That Public Teaser shot will be re-rendered (it’s not counted in the % in the graphic above, FYI, so no worries) to improve it for release day. In any case, it’s both good to know that about her and to know that Unshi’s still beWilder at heart, isn’t it? I’ve been documenting my progress in these early weeks since filling in, but it seems he’s also doing well recovering thus far. Kudos to him, I wish him the best!

Misc News of the Week

There’s not much in the vein of Misc News this week, at least not much that’s not been covered already. I will say here that the poll in last week’s post about Kriem’s mascara closed out with a positive result. I feel I’ve got more to learn and practice with in that respect, but I’m happy the attempts so far are well received. Likewise, the combined shot of Noe from the week before and Discord also got some likes. For those that haven’t seen it yet, here it is. This is likely what’s going to end up as the in-game image. Thanks all for taking part and giving me feedback on both!

The Week Ahead

Almost done, folks! I hope y’all feel rightly teased and also premiumly informed all at once. On the other side of the weekend, the plan is pretty straightforward: I’ll be picking up where I left off on the Car Washing scene, which is just a handful of CGs left. Kicking Monday morning off with a c.umshot! There are worse ways to start a week, huh? Muhaha!

After that, I’ll be on to the last scene. Given it’s pretty early in the Kelsey arc, it’s more of a scene for those that enjoy the characters letting out their… well, character… more than their censorable bits. It’s also an important foundation scene for what the next version will build on, so that’s nice. It being 20 CGs total, and the Car Wash scene still needing some of the week’s time budget, I don’t expect to finish it but I’ll give it a damn good try! I’ll get close at the very least! After that, it’s just the gameplays left, so in either case next week will be a lot about sinking my teeth into the last of the scene CGs for this version.

Next weekend I also hope to make a start on putting together Sexbox 2099, assuming the last of her parts makes it here on time. I’ll talk more about that in next week’s report, though this week I’ll be ear up for those last deliveries.

So that’s the week that was, #3. I feel I’m starting to get into the swing of things all around now. Even more, I can now say in all honesty I’ve put most of a game version together all by myself at this point, which is a real shot of confidence in the arm on where I was feeling only a few weeks ago. Still, what matters is getting past “most” to “full”, and next week’s another chance at doing that. So until then…!
