Spook’s Progress Posting #1 – First Week and Office “Work”

Hey there, wild wonderers. Welcome! Another week as come and gone, which means it’s time to check in and let y’all how this new experiment is going in its early days. So let’s talk the week that just happened. Let’s get wild!

Since this is the first official week in review log post, I’m still feeling out how to format it as I go, but I feel it might just be a good idea to start them off with the meat of things, the TL;DR headline as it were. That way those who just want to get the scoop on progress can have it and we’ll do the talking after. Here we go, the top line of the week.

Goal: The goal laid out for the week in the last post was to prep and pose 9 CG inserts to the existing Damon arc office sex scene “Worlds Collide”, then render as many as could be done.

Accomplished: I’m happy to report, I got all 9 CGs made, and 10 more in tow after (for a different scene). Yes, I in fact managed to make 19 CGs in total in the week. More on that below. As for rendering, there was some substantiative changes during the week that made trying to render out all the images at this time. We’re going to be upgrading the hardware around here! The parts are already arriving, but ah, we’ll discuss that more at a later date. No counting chickens before they hatch anymore.

So that’s the headline of the week. Not at all bad, huh? For those that want some more dishing of details, stick around and check out below. There’s plenty to talk about from the last few days.

Alrighty, let’s log some details! This last week I’ve been busy on a few fronts, meaning that not all of my time in the week was available to sit and Daz things up (maybe 70% of my time was?), but even so I still got a whole lot done. A week in officially and I’m pretty happy with how things are going. Now, I do think it’s worth pointing out that part of why it turned out that I got a little over double my target to start with I believe came from the fact that the Damon scene I worked in was built already and the job was simply inserting action between action. Not the heaviest of lifting, honestly. Also it helped that I had more time to give to it that would otherwise be eaten by rendering. Still, it’s a good start I think. I’m hoping that I can continue on at a similar pace next week, and that I can set my sights on a consistent target of 12-15CGs a week at least to build up our versions on. Time will tell, I suppose.

Something to not lose sight of in all this is quality after all. There’s little point chasing numbers if the images are meh, right? Well, now’s a chance for you to tell me. What do we think in terms of quality for the effort?

This is a whole new CG for the scene by yours truly. The rest of the 9 I made are of similar quality, and I myself feel they’re looking good, but I’m not the best judge on that front. I’ll take your comments on the post below and on Discord’s Patron space as the verdicts on that.

This is the same CG from a different angle, not another 1 of the 9 package. After rendering out the first version above, I noticed on inspection I’d missed the opportunity to show Noe’s fringe affected by gravity as it would be. Since you can’t easily see how transparent or not the hair is going to be in engine, I decided to render it, and at the same time I took the chance to see it from another angle. I like how Noe’s hair dangle turned out here (it blocks her expression in the original angle, FYI), however I feel the impact of her hand pulling her shirt open for more air on skin is lost some in this one. Not sure as to which I should include as the in-game image, I thought why not ask y’all?

(Note: I considered making this poll an extra for the Brave and Daring fans, to give them a little extra for their support. However, I think at this point, it’s best that I gather feedback from the widest range of voice as I’m still in my early days of learning. In future I might make these bonus posts, something else we’ll see as things develop).

The Week Ahead

Before I call time on the week, best we talk about what’s what for the next week, so you all know what to look forward to in the next post, huh? Well, I’ve already started in on a news scene, this 1 part of the planned content for v0.23. I won’t spoil what I’m working on just yet, but I’m 10 CGs into it, plus a handful of CGs already laid down by Unshi before his break. It’s a 29 CG sexy scene and it’s about halfway done, so next week I hope to finish it or at least come close. Notably, Monday is a public holiday here so that shortens the week a little, but I’m still amped up and looking ahead to getting the first full scene of our first version nailed down. Once we do, we can start to talk Public Teaser and more details overall, won’t that be nice!

The scene is already providing challenges, from skin textures, to posing and framing in confined spaces, to lighting… But so far it’s moving forward and I’m having fun making it happen. It’ll be interesting to this one come to life and get feedback as the challenge rating starts to tick up from posing sex in a wide-open, well-lit office. Ha.

Thank you for the vote of confidence, mike. I considered that as an option, but I didn't put it on the poll because I figured it was still a good opportunity to ask for feedback on the images themselves, compared. I'll give it some thought all the same. Cheers!
