Kicking It All Off!

Hey-hey, fans and dear friends. Another post already? Why, yes, that’s right!

If you read the previous post about the week that was before this one, you’ll know I’ve gotten up to a lot in Daz lately. That post was the practice post to get my progress reporting muscles all ready to go, as I believe 1 of the biggest changes we can make around here to keep the excitement going is to keep everyone informed as to how things going, and even better, how much closer things are getting to a happy release. For the most part, these posts will also be a chance to lay out what’s expected to come the week ahead too rather than bombard y’all with even more talking the other side of the weekend. However, this is a special occasion worthy of a post of its own…

… This is it. This is us breaking ground on a new version again, v0.23, my first version as the team artist, writer and coder all at once. It’s something I never thought I’d really be in a position to do, being in all the seats at once, but between that or letting NTR languish without trying it, it’s an easy choice.

So what’s on the agenda to start us off? Glad you asked! Though we kicked off this version originally back in January, we didn’t get far enough to post our Public Teaser where we detail all the things to expect in the version. I’ll save those details for dishing out as we make progress in the coming weeks and let the Public Teaser tease the public, but before we get into any of that content there’s a small in-game project I’d like to tackle first this week that wasn’t in that original plan.

It's been mentioned in passing in the past that there’s a scene already in the game that I came to believe would benefit from an extension, specifically the Noemi-Damon x-rated scene in her office. This scene, “Worlds Collide”.

A lot of the early scenes suffer from a similar condition of having been written before I really hit my stride as being able to produce writing to the level I’ve become able to, both quality and speed wise. That’s why you’ll see scenes that are 16-21 CGs long and the action in them covers only 6 or so images. Back then it seemed like enough when I’d make them, but looking back they are rather thin. The most recent version with the scene between Noe and Beck is where scenes are trending towards now: longer overall with 1/3+ being action. Most scenes now are twice as long, with around 20 CGs of intimate contact in them, which is why there’s a lot of NTR to still get though ahead of us. Before we get too far into that however, I felt the Damon scene would be better with some beefing up, so back in January 2024 I rewrote (partly) it with 9 additional CGs added. This week I’m going to attempt to make these 9 CG.

The reason I’m taking this on now rather than when I had it slotted in for a half dozen versions ahead are for a few simple reasons:

- It’s a small but impactful goal to take on at this point, a good transition from getting to know Daz to getting to know NTR from the inside, before taking on crafting new scenes from scratch.

- Almost all the work is in posing, and what’s not is camera work. There’s no pre-production to have to handle, no fancy SFX to have to deal with (we even have the end facial shot already in the game) to get bogged down in. It should be the easiest content to chew from the first bite.

- It’s x-rated content. We all want more of that in the game. This is some easy, low hanging fruit for that.

- Importantly, 9 CGs is a nice easy number, as close to 10 as we can get without being on it, and that should give us a good early baseline as to how much I can plough through in a week of working. I’d like to hope I can get 9 made in 1 week at least, but we won’t know until we try. It’s a step up to hope I could make and render 9 in a week with out current set up (harder but maybe possible). Honestly, a lot of this week is going to be an exercise in setting and managing expectations for myself as much as actually making the content. I want to find out I can do this much in a given time before I make promises for how quickly can do more.

So that’s it. That’s where we’re going from here. I’ll blaze ahead and then get y’all caught up again come the end of the work week, late Friday night or early afternoon Saturday GMT (I often sleep days and work nights, so it could be any time in that window). Here’s hoping for some good news then!
