Agents of Heels v0.26 Backer Teaser #3 – Calling All Cars!

Hello, hello, come one and all. It’s about time for is to hit on the hankerin’ for to see Natasha and our girls doing what they do, huh? So it is and so shall be done! We wanted to break into the end of the month with some news updating to keep y’all on the tip if the information iceberg. Bottom line is we’re not quite there yet still but close enough to be glitzin’ with some girls gone galivanting again. So let’s see some good stuff and then get into the details!

Natasha’s making the most have having grunts under her heels on this job, but that doesn’t mean she’s getting off without some work for herself, oh no! With all the Joes’ eyes on her and less and less clothing to keep her warm in the NYC streets, maybe “thrill and chill” won’t be so quick to replace “shock and awe”… No worries, she’s got plenty of that instore for us too soon, soon!


Okay then boys and… well, boys mostly but who knows! Okay then gents, time for the statuses dejour. We’re still turning the wheels over, for better or worse. We had high hope to have been through the ringer back at our last newest deadline a couple weeks back but we’re still facing the same issues of hardware holding us back. Here’s the sitch as of today:

We’ve got almost all but a couple images readied and made in Daz, key words there is in Daz. Many are still to be rendered, which is what’s causing bottle neck right now. The last week or two were a cycle of annoyances, as Unshi would build up the image, turn to find an asset or a custom texture (such as for example the clothing damage we do love so much and made special) only to find it the victim of file corruption after the carious crashes… Honestly, irony has never hurt us so much, corrupt Nat held back by corrupted files… Fuck sake… We had back-ups of course, but reinstalling things again and again in our big ass bank of assets and making sure it all reapplies right has been time consuming and a pain in the back end.


On the bright side, aside from the few left still to right on account needing to rebuild a couple things from scratch, we’re through that briar’s patch. Now to the last (damn it let it be the last) of the weights dragging on us… Batch rendering crashes the computer, which sends us back to the top to try again, and again… We’re stuck on a one-in, one-out old style of rendering the ~115 images to avoid that problem. That means we’ve got to physically set the machine to render each image after the pervious is done. Can’t set them to run overnight while we sleep or it blows. Got to come and go and let it run during the day while we see to other things off the main PC because it takes the whole thing to run it. Got a nice close up? Great, see you again in 55 mins or so! Got a complex action piece or a… shall we say… sticky liquid focused image? Tough luck pal, gonna be 4, maybe 5 hours. Good luck getting a handful out before bed at that rate!

So, honestly, it’s not the best news but it is news. We’d love to say “any day now!” but even though we suspect it will be close to a week’s time to finish up, it hardly matters does it? Only matters when it gets here, so keep an eye out and “Keep watching the skies!”.



Side News: Some forward progress on the new PC, if only a little. We’ve secured ourselves a loan on paper for the machine, so that’s something. We’ve got what we need in our future at last. When we will actually have the funds is still to be set, and hence when we’ll have the actual hardware is too, but hey. Step 1 achieved. We’ll keep y’all posted.
