Better Billing for You All

Hey one and all, how’s it going around your swath of the wildness then? We’re still working away through our own To-Dos and sexy in-game errands ahead of the next version, and we’ll have a tasty Public Teaser in just a couple days now, but while that’s all cooking up something special we have time to check in with some admin along the way as a month change over comes up on us soon. And since this is a notice about important changes to the page, y’all know what that means… Go get your matching bikini’s on girls and get to a-sittin’!

So, to the topic at hand, this one is a pretty simple change up to give more options to the fans out there when it comes to billing, specifically allowing you all to pick when you’d like it, as you like it! We’re switching over to Same Date Sign Up billing cycles come November. Patreon recently added this option to creators at the end of September and we made note of it. Now’s the right time to make it so, as we’ve had time to properly discuss and digest the potential for it. We believe it’s for the best to go for it.

What does this mean?

As it is now, when people sign up as a supporter on here, they get billed right away and gain their access to all the wildness we’ve got going back 5 years+. That membership lasts until the end of the calendar month, so if you were to say sign up today (October 26th) you’d only get 5 days of your month’s membership to really enjoy it before you get charged again come the first of next month. Staring in November, if you join up on the 26th, you get the full 30 days of November for your support, right up until the 26th of December, before you get billed again. So much fairer for you guys, right? Indeed so.

That’s it. That’s really the heart of it all, a better fan experience for all for the future. Please do note that all existing supporters will have their start date set to the 1st of the month by default, so there will be no change in practice for you all, but for future/returning supporters.

We ourselves think this is for the best, allowing the fans to pick when supporting best works for them, but we did have to give it a good thinking over. One thing that this means now is that we’re no longer going to have the big 08:00 (00:00 Patreon time) on the 1st of the month as our steadfast deadlines as we’ve come to be used to for releases. We use that as our measuring yardstick to get things done and posted because that’s when the new billing cycle starts and so we want you all with rewards in hand by then. With this in effect it means everyone will be billed at different times instead of one big block, so it’s not cudgel it once was. However, after giving it some thought and debate, we also think this is for the best. It’s been no secret that lately we’ve needed more time on versions than we once did, for a few reasons best not essayed here, and so we’d do well to be as honest as possible (as we have always endeavoured to be) about expectations and deadlines as we go forward. We just can’t squeeze things into 4 short weeks at our current level, despite trying, and it’s for the best we acknowledge that. This billing change is but an opportunity to help improve upon that situation as well, one more reason it’s worth doing it.

One of the things that makes us believe we can make the best of both worlds on this is our long running accountability series of Goals and Review posts, still running without break since April 2018 (55 months and counting), something we’ll keep on doing to transition each month despite this new billing cycle option. To us, we’ll keep on going like there’s been no switch up, they by allowing us to keep ourselves to account and the beWilderversemoving forward.

So in summary/ TL;DR

- We’re switching to Same Date Billing Sign Up billing cycles from November on. This means no matter when you sign up you’ll get billed a month from then on the same date, rather than the 1st of the month, for as long as you’re with us.

- Current supporters will not be affected, you’ll be set to the 1st as your billing date by Patreon by default.

- We’re going to keep on doing our monthly transitional Goals and Review posts for accountability and transparency reasons like normal, but we’ll better tailor release expectations within the bounds this change allows as needed.

- This should be a better supporter experience for all, without any real interruption, so it’s for the best we do so and make the change over.
