Lights, camera and action-jaction! Let’s jump right into some big moves! Hey there our beWildernauts, how’s it hanging for you this Friday? Well it’s about time we tell y’all what’s what under the hood our world, yours and ours, as we press on to more awesome. We’ll say it now so y’all don’t get the wrong idea, it’s not great news coming at us, but it’s becoming a great sequence for it, so we’re still cracking a cock-eyed smile on one side of our mouths. We’ll get into it all in just a moment, but first, let’s enjoy some thrills!

Nat’s kicking ass and dropping like she’s hot, because she is, and looking like a scarlet starlet as she does. The Faceless Joes are back again, and as the Good girl on scene (even if a little corrupted), she’s knocking them flat on her way to the danger zone. You know where that’s going to be right? And yes, for the record, she kicks like a horse and she likes her studs hung like them in return! Now just y’all wait until we get to rip and tear that lovely suit and force her into acrobatic action then!
Alright then, delightful homages aside, while we have plenty of fun making things and playing with digi-titties, work is work and we’ve got a job to do. How’s it coming along then? As we said, slower than we’d at all like, but beautiful (we mean that visually, technically and narratively if can execute), and we’ve really got a sweet playground to put all our Nat through a lot on our hands. The building you can see in our Public Teaser is a police station asset we custom destroyed by hand, which then had to be technically reworked after the fact to be ready-renderable for more than a background. Plus added to it we’ve got some returning characters (who could they be?) on the scene that needed optimizing for proper scenes again (our standards are better, they have to be), and we had to custom model in an important part of a car people would have figured would be there, but wasn’t… It’s a lot in the mix that wasn’t expected at first glance, and hence we’ve been pulled back to the Pre-Production phase for a while. That’s sucked. We’ve got some renders through the process, but if we don’t want each one ahead of us to take the better part of a day each, we’ve got to re-optimize, or re-write the whole Mission for different locals/actors/props at this point and start over with a smaller, lesser set-up. Not happening. Who wants that? So we press on.
To put it in just a few of Unshi’s own words in our team chatters… “If you want some statistics of how fun the week has been ... its been around 50 materials (which is around 150 textures) optimised; around 50 shaders (some the same some different ones) changed; around 30 props either changed or removed; around 10 props which had copies of themselves have been instantiated several times to replace said copies; both the car and the boot have been worked on a modelling app to match each other and i filled it with the things we will need.”
So yeah, enjoy those teasy details with a spot of bother. The simple take away from all this though is that we’re behind the 8-ball again and working furiously at it to keep up. It’s also going to mean we’re still in need of some chunks of time to get all we want and need out of this first release, so May is looking unrealistic at this point. We’re sad to say it seems these timescale issues won’t get off our backs before we finish AoH given the scale of the only content left to cover…. But Hell, if we think like that it’ll only make it become reality, so we’ll soldier on like Nat is and keep wrestling with the challenges until we pin them, as fast and best we can. Yeah. As for when to expect the release, we’ll need to clear some things and reassess to get a clearer timeline, which we’ll have for our next backer teaser. On the bright side, we do this once and we have it forever. That means it’s not needed for either Nat to come, nor would it be if we ever return to have more Heels action in future content, and even if we don’t we get to enjoy what we make here today forever anyways. Besides, we have to do it anyway.
So there we have it. A mixed bag of news but ever more sexy outcomes for the troubles, huh? Onward, upward and inward when it comes to standing behind Natasha!
