NTR v0.17 Technical Teaser – Setting Things Just Right!

Hey-ho there folks and folkettes, time to chalk up our hands and start another week, eh? We’ve got some big posts and talk-worthy news coming up on this very page later in the days to come, but first and foremost we’ve got the joys of the game still on the menu to plate and serve up steaming hot. We’re not quite there yet… still… Which both sucks and is maddeningly enraging, but step by step we get there. We’ll see how the dev kitchen is fairing mid-week, but for now let’s get something to sip on to start the week and have Monday go right. Let’s talk tech a moment! But first…!

(Forgive the typo, that’s already sorted.)

How do you like our news credits page? With the addition of donated music by MaffinMusicMan coming with this version, we’ve had to whip up some head nods and thank yous so that he (and any future contributor) can have their duly earned dues. While we’re at it we’ve made sure to tip the hat to the supporters who are owed a thanks for making things at all possible. For now we’ve got for simple, modest and to fit more with other in-game gameplay pop-up menus.

In the future we may spice things up some more, with a special thanks section for those (and there are a few) who have been overly supportive in our days, and maybe some more sweet sexiness of girls in games yet to come when we’re that far along. All that can come much later though, more now this suits us. What do you think?

Now, some like it hot, but how do you like your games set?

Another modest menu to be our settings, but with it comes a few sweet little things that we hope will make your experience at Little Toscana and in Noemi’s shoes all the easier, better, and more enjoyable. As a part of aiming to bring a professional level of polish to the game engine we’ve built up from scratch, we’ve added in a few starter settings along with new volume controls to allow you all to customise your way around any sharp corners you might have felt up until now. Such settings already include:

- Windowing or Fullscreening after the start of the game. We’d like to give a drop down of resolution settings at some point if that’s of use to people, but initially this should help with those who like to programme hop between saucy CGs.

- Typewriter Effect Controls. That slow text reveal that helps make the game keep pace? Well, we like it but it’s not to everyone’s taste, we know. You’ll still have the option of hotkeying it on/off, but we’ve added it to the visual menu too for easy, and for those who haven’t found the hotkeys yet. For the first time ever, you’ll have access as the player to set the speed now too, which is good news for everyone!

- Textbox Opacity, for those who’d like to peek deeper behind the texts without hitting the UI toggles. Simple, right?

- Auto-read Speed (not pictured). We actually don’t know to what extent y’all use the Auto-read feature in the game, as nice as it is to have, but since it’s now an easy task with a setting menu in place, we figured why not give y’all control there too? Easy-peasy lemon speedy!

Those are the ones we thought up, but how about you? Now that we’ve got us a nice sporty little UI to change up the game, is there any other little things you players out there would find helpful additions to the arsenal? We’ve got our ears pricked up and listening, so do let us know if any of the VN elements we’ve not yet mentioned stick in your craw enough to deserve a place on our wall of player tune-ups! Do shout out, but remember, settings menu options only!

Ok then. We hope that’s been something to suck on delightfully, and speaking of such things we hope to be back soon with Noemi sucking on something to delight all the same! It’s still a case of putting the nose to the grindstone and getting it done… So let’s do that. Let’s go…!
