August 2020 Handover and Public Teaser – Agents of August!

Hello again, big ol’ crazy world! Hello double to the beWildernauts too. We’re back again and we’re off and running. Today’s a special combo post to boot, both our handover and our public post in one, so who’s up for some saucy fun to get the game going? We are!

Oh what we wouldn’t give to have a special lady like Frankie around to help direct our plans! It’s quite Frankiely, all hands on deck as we find the best use of the next two weeks to rock even more socks. Let’s give it a go and see if we can’t zero in on that target, we’ve got to do something while we wait for the Mexico heat to melt all those clothes off our Francesca, now don’t we!



Alrighty guys and gals, Agents and Agent lovers, let’s get to business and fun all at once! So it’s lost on nobody that it’s already into the tail end of August, so this month is pretty much an audible to get us back on track with the good stuff. So here’s the plan and our versions details, because we want to get an AoH instalment this August yet. However, it’s not all going to be Ivy’s level of roses…


Here’s what to expect:

- We’ve got about 2 weeks to get something worthwhile together, so with that in mind and our determination not have any more deadline spill over, it’s got to be a tech build. Recently we put up poll for NTR’s upcoming v0.12 about which feature y’all wanted most and it was a pretty resounding call for a Gallery. So… can you see where this is going? We have so much we want to get into next month’s NTR special and don’t want to be losing time on it to make up for August, so this is a great chance to both right the ship and improve AoH as much at the same time, even get a little head start on next month’s efforts as well. We’re going to start work on a UI design for a Gallery mode that can be used as the base for both AoH and NTR, so both games will have the ability to replay scenes at will. AoH will get the first version while NTR gets it’s own base code implemented on its engine side (as we said before the games engine’s are completely different in this respect, so a Gallery needs two implementations across both games). Then we can take on design feedback, reskin and rework things, and NTR will get a similar feature next month. That’s going to be the lion’s share of this month’s To-Do, a double whammy to step up both games.

- Still aiming to improve on the tech side, we’re going to retool the Saves for both games, again starting with AoH and using it as the beta for an NTR add. This one is a simpler change, in that we’re switching to using the AppData for the save locations of files now. We’ve had our reasons for not doing this over the years, but more and more people tell us they would prefer the convenience and familiarity of the usual AppData method over the privacy and clean method of how we currently do it, so we’re going to listen to the majority here and make it so. This will be the other major quality of life improvement to the games we’re going to get in for this bit ahead.

- As for game content, well there simply isn’t going to be anything major or all that new, we’re sorry to say. We’ve just come off of 7 weeks of crush rendering, so we really do need to pause, take stock, get back up to date on our pre-production work (assets don’t make themselves after all) and by the time we do all that we simply wouldn’t have the time left to add anything of quality to the game this time. Not without delays, or without ditching the Galley above. We’re making the call that the engine features beats out a short 20 CG scene, and besides, most of what Nat has left ahead of her is sex, action and glory, so cutting any of that to 20 CGs seems silly, right? On the upside, we still have a handful of Act 1 Redos to cover still, so we’re going to aim to include as many of the Mission 1 era scenes still to update as we can for August so there is something to enjoy yet (possibly with the help of the gallery even).



So that’s it folks, that’s what we’re going to tackle for August. The simple summary is this:

- We’re taking these two weeks to do a tech build on AoH, but ultimately, we will be using the window of time to improve/implement the common features of both games while we have this unexpected time in our schedule. We’re aiming to return to proper, full releases and our usual deadlines by September.

- AoH is getting the Beta version of a Gallery Mode the fans chose to add to NTR, which will be reskinned, updated and refined for NTR’s September release.

- AoH will be switching over to the AppData location for saving game files this version, and to keep things consistent and avoid confusion, NTR will move as well next month.

- There will be no ne scenes added to AoH this month, we just don’t have the time to do quality and quantity plus right the ship deadline wise. It will however get more Act 1 rewrites and improvements, so older sex scenes will be worth a revisit come v0.18.



So that’s us. Plenty of good stuff for AoH to come, and NTR’s winding up for a big improvement of its own when we find ourselves back on proper beWilder time. Time to make some lemonade out of the schedule’s lemons, only it’s the sweet kind than makes your mouth water. Expect to see us get back into he usual swing of things on the page here as well, as we expect to ramp up our Alternate Universe series of posts again this week, and get stuck in on making a lewd splash like every month. Until we’ve gone and done ya’ proud…
