About a Boy… Silence & Stilettoes Feedback Time!

Or is it About a Roy?! Hello and hey-hey, we’re back again and we’re back with a vengeance! Nah, it’s actually a question we’re packing! First and foremost though we have a little bit of a showcase too, and both relate to our special Season 2 content of Silence & Stilettoes! So, who’s up for a bit of chit-chat? All are invited!

So, as the title says, we’re showing off a boy this time. Wha??? For true! We put as much work into those as we do the ladies after all… well, maybe not just as much, but still a lot. It’s not well rounded if half the cast are little more than cut outs! What kind of world you think we’re makin’ here?!

Seriously though, for those Daring and even wilder, you’ll recognize this guy as our young(ish) Roy from our S&S series. He’s been in a few fantastic wallpapers already we dare say, and he’s got a good 20 more or so still to come over the next year. He’s a little noir stylised but you can see the Old Roy who fills Little Toscana’s prime counter seat in him, can’t you?

We’re showing him off a little here today because we’ve been asked about him before now, the short answer is “Yes, he did get a clean up in Chapter 3, good for noticing!”. We’re also showing him off because, let’s face it, we’re pretty proud of how he turned out. Sure, his story calls for more of a snub pistol, but nobody wants to cheer for a “Clean Harry” kinda guy, it’s Dirty for a reason! That’s our man, but can he catch the killer? That’s up to y’all to prove!

And that brings us to the heart of today’s post. A quick reminder, for those yet to get into the chase we have 4 public chapters (5th out for backers already) of a Noir Detective Story right here, we call it Silence & Stilettoes, and it’s pretty damn thrilling! Or… is it? Really, is it? We’d like to know.

The story is beginning to heat up, we’ve left some breadcrumbs and clues, and not to mention we’ve enjoy a fresh twist on some of our girls along the way. We’re liking where it’s going, and we’re happy to keep chugging along. But with 2 full months of our efforts laid bare, we’d like to hear from y’all on it. This is our first real shot at a true fan driven regular serial, with little time between updates. It’s also a whole new world, if non-canonical, with a specialist tone and theme… something we are serious about getting right. So then, let us hit you with some questions!

How is the Noir World we’re setting up? Does the theme and the tone strike you right?

Do you enjoy the depiction of our “hero”? Is Roy the right man for the job?

The ladies! What of the ladies? Are they too little or too largely the focus of our tale? Should there be more about their looks than their words?

But the most important question we can ask, and the focus of the poll below….

We’re making this a public poll because we’re in it for the quality of the story and the learning experience, not just the pat on the back from fans, constructive criticism is beneficial to us all too. A heads up though, we’re not going to let our story telling style be shaped by committee, we’re going to keep doing what we do well, but at the same time we know we’re not perfection, so that’s why we’re here today to listen.
