Samus’ Suit: Have Her Your Way!

Hello again Brave fans and those pushing it wilder. We have a special bonus poll this month for y’all to have your say in. While working on our post-pro features, we came up with a whole new Samus and now we’re stuck between our cock and a hard place… yes, I know that makes no sense! That’s what this is doing to us! Let’s us explain a little…

Samus is a non-canonical character in the beWilderverse, as of right now she has no place in our story telling… not in the same way Nat and Noe do (though never say never!). Still, it’s hard not to appreciate beauty and bodysuits, regardless of if we plan to use them right now. We like to take a break sometimes when we are experimenting with our Art and she makes a nice model to hand special concepts, light tests and particle effect tests and the like. We plan to keep her around in this role and have her as our official concepts model, at least for a good while yet. But now we’ve come to a quandary as to which to use in future… so we thought we’d hear what y’all think.

Left – The left Samus is our new girl. She’s much closer in design to the original character and even has a nice metallic shine to her. The blue blocks help detail her body and break up the shape while you run your eyes over her. However, her suit is highly reflective as its glossy texture shows, and the body suit is much more hardened. It’s clearly armour worn for protection, rather than a sexy outfit. It’s also more time intensive to work with as it ups render times significantly and means less potential for experimenting as it eats a portion of our limited time away from game content. So there's that…

Right – The right Samus is exactly the same in all respects except for the shader attached. You can see that for yourself in our main post on the topic. Her suit itself is fairly detailed but some can be hard to see depending on the conditions of the specific image. For example, at this angle and lighting it’s quite hard to see the knurling textured effect around the breasts we’re so fond of. On the upside, her ‘clothing’ is a very tight fit on the body, not unlike a cat suit (you may have guessed by now we have a thing for tight clothing) definitely a sex-orientated outfit. You can practically see it stretch over her ass in the image. It also had the benefit of being light technically too and relative to the Left version, can be rendered much faster… giving us the potential for more shots over time.

So that’s our piece. Help us break the stalemate and let us know which you think deserves to be our go to testing girl! We’ll honour the fans’ decision. We’ll leave the poll open over the weekend and let the world know the result come Monday! Until we see y’all again (which will be oh so soon)…
