Hey hey, everyone! We’re back at the top of another month… can you believe it’s April already? Hope you all had a great weekend! Today, we’re spending our bank holiday with you guys, while we roll along with our work. If you want to hang with us, come on by our new Fan Discord Server, if you haven’t already. We’ve already had a few casual discussions and a few laughs (not to mention a sneak peek or two) since we launched. We’re always working hard but we can spare the time for comments and questions with the fans here and there. Not unlike the New Radicals, when it comes to Discord, you’ll “Get What You Give”, so if it’s your kind of thing be sure to make the most of it. Now, what’s been going on our side this weekend you ask? Glad you did!
Yesterday was Easter, a day to take it easy, spend time with family and friends… generally charge up the spirit to release throughout the month as we continue to work hard. That’s what Spook did… Unshi, not so much. Couldn’t have pry him away from the computer if we had the world’s biggest crowbar. He spent his holiday on a rare opportunity to upskill in the art effects areas we’d like to do more of, the kinds that will help scenes in any project we wish to do really pop. Want to see what he came up with? Here’s a little look!
What do y’all think? Not bad for a learning experience try-out. The focus here is the physical rain drop effects as well as replicating the amount of soak-through on the clothing you would expect should you really get caught in the rain by accident (or on purpose, it is Kate after all). We’d say the effects work pretty well, wouldn’t you? Just look at the hair too… the more I see soaking wet Kate the more I love her… can you blame me? Like we said, not bad for a day’s work…
And yeah, this concept was inspired by the movie “The Girl Next Door”, good for you for noticing! Really, what other phrase would you call Kate by? Seriously, what would you call her? Well, while you think long and hard about that (don’t forget to shout it out on the Discord), we’re heading back to work on our regularly scheduled projects today. That means more wet Kate will have to wait for another day. While we push on with the UI work, we’ll also be prepping for the next round of the Wallpaper Season 1 contests, AoH’s kicks off this Wednesday, so get hyped! Thank you! It is beautiful, isn't it? Sad news buddy, we already did a rain test on Romanov a long time ago and it went out as part of the H&V bonus art... maybe one day we'll see it again, if the Adventurous and Pure Wild people are cool with it. On the upside, we're hitting Noe's next update pretty hard right now so when it's done we'll be on to a whole month of playing with Nat again, just need to hold on a little longer until we see her strutting her stuff again. And who knows, we might even see her again sooner if she wins the upcoming Wallpaper (she very nearly did last month). Maybe she'll get wet in one of those shots? We'll have to wait and see
