We are alive! Engine Test Available.

Dear Agents!

We’d like to give you some starting feedback on where the project is right now and where it is going. You can find most of the information in the presentation post here on Patreon, but you’re more than welcome to ask any more questions you may have.

First of all, where we are:

As you already know we just released an Engine Test. This is not the demo of the game. Its purpose is to test how transitions and Vignette decisions work, and start receiving feedback, suggestions or improvements about it.

It doesn’t contain nudity (or any hint to it) because we want to reach the maximum public as possible.

Please leave some feedback on what you didn’t like, typos, errors, bugs, etc.

What are we working on?

We’re working non-stop on the demo of the game. It should contain and clearly show the mechanics of the game (as well as we’re able to). You can expect a demo that will have about half an hour of content.

The Demo on March will be FREE and for all publics. We want to show what this game is really about and all the features that you will enjoy.

The future of the engine:

So, the engine test works; it’s not flawless, but it works. We would like it to better show what’s beneath, though.

The engine test is intendedly linear, but we’d like to implement some “spare time” system for the game, where the user will be able to decide what to do with it.  It will serve to improve your stats, interact with characters (like neighbors and such), take a day off, etc.

We would like to immerse the user into the experience of being an Agent of Heels not only during mission time, but day and night.

Creating your own storyline:

At this point, there are three types of decisions already implemented on the game.

They are still not integrated with “Save/Load” or “Stats”, so all the programming hours fall there. We expect the “Save/Load” feature to be working with the second version of the game,  so you should be able to load your progress from the demo.

Well, We hope we did clarify some of the questions you may have had. If there’s something you want to know, don’t hesitate to ask! We will be more than happy to hear from you all.

See you soon!

Spook2099, You’re more than welcome in each corner of Agents of Heels ;) Thank you for your words and understanding. I (Ariakas) also have seen firsthand indie game companies that fell down by trying to achieve more that they could afford. This is why we set realistic goals in Agents of Heels. I won’t comment about the IP borrowing and better let’s wait until the Demo Version is available. But be sure that you’ll find high doses of creativity in our game. We’re putting all our efforts right now to create quality content and a solid engine where to develop. Soon you’ll see a new post in the Patreon Community explaining what we have been doing these last few days. In my personal opinion (and I am speaking as Ariakas, not as a Marketing Specialist), I think this game really worth it. Don’t worry about the amount of your current donation, the Demo Version will be available for everyone since day 1 we launch it. And if you ever can (and want to) contribute, we will be glad to have you between our lines. Hope to hear from you again ;). Ariakas

Hey guys, mind if I jump in on this thread, even if its a week or so old? I'll do so anyway! I'm agreeing with a lot of what Stoper says in regards to the Daz Assets and the IP "Borrowing" but I think Ariakas (I assume he wrote that) did a good job of assuaging my concerns honestly. I think if where at all possible to use entirely original content they would but you do really have to balance out the opportunity cost as a developer. I think too many people, especially in the indie scene, fall down on that by not keeping things achievable in a short time frame. I hope one day AoH can get to that level but that's really up to us fans, right? The IP "borrowing" doesn't actually bother me. I mention it since do agree originality is always nice but in the end this is your dream, so I say go for it regardless, sincerely. There's no reason you can't add a bit of originality to the premises as you go (btw, I do like the take on the Branding, well done). All the best with it guys! Ultimately I agree with Stoper on the amount of content but I'm really looking forward to the March demo, if it stays the same quality of the Engine Test then that should put to bed the question, its got to be worth at least $1, right? Yes, more so even. I'd love to chip in but alas I am broke (hence I'm trying to kickstart community chat with this message instead, the least I can do). If you guys ever need help in other ways, I'd love to lend a hand, one game dev and fan to another. Keep at it! -Spook2099
