GDC/ Short Road-trip Recap!

This week I had the pleasure of attending my very first GDC (Game Developers Conference) and let me tell you, it was an insane experience! I got to hang out with friends that I haven’t seen in a long time and meet some incredible game developers, audio designers, and composers. I even got to meet and chat with composers like Lena Raine (Celeste, Minecraft, Chicory) and Darren Korb (Bastion, Hades). They were so cool and sweet, and honestly, most everyone I talked to was. I may have some really awesome collaborations and jobs come out of spending time at GDC, which would be incredible. I drove up to San Francisco from Los Angeles with my partner and was only at the conference for two days before heading back down south. I’d consider myself a pretty social person, but those were a couple of really intense days. By the end of it, my social battery was definitely drained, and I was looking forward to a long, music-filled ride home. I got to do a slightly shorter version of the PCH drive, and it was absolutely beautiful. I love road-trips and I can’t wait to do the whole West Coast eventually. I hope everyone else’s March has been going well. Thank you again for the support and I’m so overjoyed that I got to start the Patreon this month.

2024-03-27 20:47:30 +0000 UTCAhhh, I love Darren Korb's work on the Hades soundtrack, so heavy and with great mythological music themes. And the drive on the PCH is so beautiful, got some good pictures from when I did it back in 2019. Bizarrely I think I even recognize the photo of the grass, I took a similar pic going through vineyards between Big Sur and Santa Barbara. Looking forwards to doing it again in nearly 2 months :D
