Poll for $10/25 tiers (Credits page)
Added 2024-10-07 22:41:58 +0000 UTCHello! So, this is a bit of an odd poll, rather than a content question it's kind of a housekeeping thing.
For the $10/25 tiers, I've maintained (poorly, at times) a page of credits. I show it on my streams, and I append it to my videos. This was originally added as a little thank-you bonus back when the $10+ tier had less content planned.
Now, years later, a few things have changed.
I've actually got real content being produced for the $10+ tiers.
I'm posting a lot less on youtube due to issues with the site, so the credits aren't really getting used as much.
There's a lot more people on the credit page and it is far more difficult to maintain, especially with people regularly cycling in/out.
The difficulty of maintaining has been compounded by a number of people (a few dozen, at this point?) directly telling me 'I don't want to have my name listed'. And that's fair!
Truth be told, I didn't even update it last month. It's a lot of tedious busywork that could instead be spent on, you know, actually making a new release. It takes me a number of hours to fully sort through people, edit it, make sure I don't have anyone who opted out involved, etc.
This is the kind of thing I want to reduce in the patreon: Busywork for things that may not be that critical.
So, how would you feel if I removed the credits page, and instead spent that time on other things? Either existing workload, or building up new things with the freed up hours (and mental energy). Of course, I'd like to replace the reward somehow. I do think the tier will be worthwhile even without it once I reach full speed on animation releases, but I don't necessarily like outright removing rewards without some sort of replacement.

2024-10-14 17:07:01 +0000 UTCLikely all of us are here because we enjoy your work and want to support it not just to have our names on a list at the end of a video which when it comes down to it very few will read compared to the amount that actually watch the video. While its a nice touch the amount of effort vs the payout is simply reaching the point that it becomes detrimental to time and producion with your continually growing fanbase worsening as it grows. So don't worry about having to stop doing it, anyone that is against it is merely being selfish/petty.

I'd rather it be spent on working on content that you'd enjoy especially as the pages have seen a slow decline of use as releases on youtube are a bitch with awful policy enforcement.

I don't really mind not getting shouted out each video (especially since Youtube is a butt) as that's not why I pledged support in the first place. Just seeing your content improve and thinking I helped that happen is gratification enough for me

If it is more stressful and takes up more time, I don't want to be on the credits to ease the workload. On the other hand if you find a way to make it work without issue then sure why not be in the credits page!
