Thoughts about Bloodlines's endgame?

Hey friends

We're getting ahead on recording because of Portland Retro Gaming Expo, so we might record our final RLH episodes on Bloodlines early and we want your comments in the council!

So we're putting out the call now. Worst part about the ending dungeons? Best parts? Thoughts about the ending? Thoughts about the game as a whole? Now is your time to drop them. Speak now or forever hold your peace, as still as the grave.

You have an indeterminate amount of time, so comment soon if you're interested. We want to hear from you!

I don't know if this fits anywhere in your episode, but I'm picking up Cyberpunk 2077 again and the whole time I'm playing it I just keep thinking: THIS is Bloodlines 2. The way it's a game that benefits from interesting characters, story and moody neon and night time urban sleaze. A story-based RPG that gestures at Deus Ex-ing. The humor/tone also seems more in line with Bloodlines compared to what we've seen from Bloodlines 2, which seems much more self serious. I feel like a lot of the Cyberpunk characters could live in Bloodlines and vice versa, with some modifications from tech to supernatural or back. Even the cheesy 'cool' soundtrack, dorky but still very fun. Thoughts? This season has been ridiculously cool, so thank you for diving into the wonderful world of VTM.

As fun as Nines killing that werewolf with a grenade was, I wish he'd died. Not because I dislike Nines, quite the opposite I think he's great, but him dying would make the ending more interesting. I'm sure me ideologically agreeing with them is a big reason why, but as is siding with The Anarchs feels like a bit of a no-brainer, the only faction that would have your back and have their shit together enough to defend the city. But with Nines gone Damsel and Skelter would have to step up, the future would look more uncertain so turncapes might join the Camarilla and it would put more shade on Jack inadvertently getting his comrade killed. Still it was a treat to revisit Bloodlines along with the show this season and Clan Quest Mod will be a fixture of mine moving forward. At time of writing Bloodlines 2 isn't out yet, but I take comfort knowing that even if I don't like the sequel, Bloodlines will continue to have a legacy and influence on the medium. It was for example cited as chief influence on Cyberpunk 2077 and Troika Veterans Chad Moore and Jason Anderson are currently at InXile making Clockwork Revolution, a title as inspired by it as Arcanum.
