Where to even start lol - Update 01/17/2021

Hey ya'll,

So, first thing's first: Apologies for the lack of updates these past couple months. In case you missed it, the first part of Pathologic, For Those Who Will Never Play It was released. Having gained some distance from it, I've only become increasingly happy with how it turned out and I'm already looking forward to putting together part 2. Given it's massive length and the level of effort that went into it, I'm tempted to maybe put together a commentary track for it that I could upload exclusively to here cause there really is just so much I could say about it. 

That wasn't all I did in early November though. I had the pleasure of being able to work with SaltyDKDan on the writing and editing of his iCarly Any% Speedrun World Record Progression, as narrated by Fredrick Knudson of Down the Rabbit Hole. If you have not watched it, I strongly recommend it. Easily one of the best projects I've ever had a hand with, everyone brought their A game.

After that, I hadn't originally planned to really take much of a beak, maybe a week or so to be responsible and breathe, but I had every intention of carrying my momentum into another big project.

Then I had some key conversations, couple hearty cries, and more than one (1) Drugs and, well, long story short, you may have noticed my name here has changed recently. So allow me to reintroduce myself:

Hi. My name is Ruby Seals. I'm a trans girl. 

If you follow me on Twitter or are active on the Discord, this isn't news to you, but it still merits talking about. This is something I have known for a while, but not something I had a dire urge to act on. That is, until recently, when I realized just how extreme my need to actually, fully transition was, at which point it became kind of all consuming.

So that's where I've been for the past month or so. Frantically trying to get my life in order as I prepare to transition, during the holidays, during a pandemic, while also psychologically processing just who and what I am and will soon be.

Fortunately, this process is now more or less done. I'm officially out publicly and began Hormone Replacement Therapy this week. And ya know what? Imma keep it real with ya'll: I feel fucking amazing. Better than I have in years. It's comical how much of a difference it's made even in just how I view and interact with myself. But that will likely be a whole discussion for another day. 

Suffice to say though, I am unbelievably excited to get back making stuff, but now with this new perspective I have. So what's the immediate future hold?

Well, first off, I'll be releasing a video about FF7 Advent Children before the end of the month. Nothing over the top, but should be a fun one. After that will be a video about DOOM Eternal. Once that's taken care of, may drop 1 or 2 quick, shorter videos that I'm holding on to as surprises for right now, as well as a couple other collaborations, before finally getting to either the next Pathologic video or the DMC5 video. After those are taken care of, it will be time to finally take care of Persona 5, potentially once and for all.

All that said, I also reserve the right to drop a really self-indulgent and personal trans experience video essay/art piece at any point in the next year as is my god given right as a content creator who's transitioning while making stuff on Youtube. As people cooler than me have put it, sometimes you got feelings and ya just gotta monetize 'em. 

Additionally, I've begun to make a concentration effort to start streaming on Twitch every Tuesday and Friday at 3PM PST! This week in particular might be dicey since I'm currently in the process of getting more stable internet in order, but be sure to follow the channel so you don't miss out.

Finally, The Perfect Parry Podcast will be coming back soon, but in a slightly renewed form. Notably, it'll be getting moved to a sister channel with a whole new look and sound. This should make it a lot easier for me to justify uploading. The podcast has always had an incredible audience for a podcast, but to the algorithm, it looks like an underperforming upload when compared to the scripted content, which brings the whole channel down. So without that anxiety hanging over each upload for me, should make it a lot easier to just drop these things the moment I have them in hand. Definitely keep an eye out for that relaunch in February.

Anyways, I think that about covers everything for right now. I am truly, truly excited ya'll. There's so much I can't wait to show you all. Gonna make 2021 a good year whether it fuckin' wants to be or not.

Oh, and thank you as always for your continued support. It's truly meant the world through all of this and been one of the reasons I was able to even afford this journey to begin with.
