80's (Comission)

Today I have an interesting track to share with you guys. I was recently commissioned to do two synthwave style tracks. That's a style I don't have too much experience with, but I decided to give the commission a try anyway. This is the result, or one half of it anyway!
I tried to use the experience I had with synthesizers from my last album (Now That I Have You) as a good starting point. As you can hear in Mono and Unlimited, I have messed with some synthesizer sounds before, though my reliance on samples always took precedence. Because this track was a commission, I had to keep my sample usage minimal so as to not get anyone into any copyright troubles (when I use samples myself I'm willing to take the risk). The result was a very different experience than what I'm normally used to, though it was pretty rewarding in the end. I wouldn't mind taking on more of these kinds of tracks, since it really forces me to grow as an artist in terms of songwriting and sound design!
