Update 10/21/20 - Announcement!

Hey everyone!
I received a question earlier about merch, and I feel like this is a good opportunity to reveal one of the projects I've been hard at work on. I don't want to give away too much information yet, since I'm still hard at work on getting everything ready for a public announcement. But I figured I should keep you all updated with what I've been up to!

I'm starting up a label!
I'm starting up a new label specializing in tapes and merch! The label will be focused around my music and a select number of artists I've chosen who I feel capture the same energy. I've already gathered around these artists and made plans for the first few releases, and I want to put out our first tape in January!

Here's the story:
I've actually been planning to start up a new label ever since my last label, Cerise Records went on hiatus in 2017. That was the place where I released my first EP, at the age of 15 (and later my first album at 17). There were a lot of things that I loved about the process of running a label, though being young and inexperienced I made a lot of mistakes. I've since waited for the right opportunity to pick up a project like this again, with the experience I've gained. I believe that the time is right to give it another shot!

Why now?
I've learned a lot over the past few years. I've experimented with a lot of different things, seeing what works and doesn't work. On the merch side of things, I've experimented with self releasing my own tape (Black One), as well as sending out my own stickers. I also started my own Patreon, started a youtube channel, and started making promotional videos and live sets. Because of all these experiments, I feel like I have a good idea of how to go about this now.

Standing out!
I realize there are other Future Funk labels out there, and I put a lot of thought into how we will stand out, and how to avoid stepping on any toes.
- Merch
I want to focus on releasing merch for every release we put out, be it stickers, shirts, cassettes, etc. This is the main focus of this project.
- Artists
I carefully chose the artists for the label to fit an aesthetic that is similar to mine, in image and music. I also respect all of these artists and trust that they are good people. I don't want to reveal exactly who's on board just yet, but guaranteed most, if not all of you are already very familiar with their music! I've been very selective with this process, and I plan to continue to be so in the future. Quality over quantity!
- Aesthetic
I plan to have a very different aesthetic than the labels that are out there already. I want to keep the cute aesthetic I have already for my own music and use that as inspiration! Fun is the key word here!

How does this affect the Patreon?
For the Patreon, I plan to give patrons a whole new list of benefits. Namely, big discounts on tapes and merch, exclusive merch, and early access to upcoming releases. I plan to feature tracks from the other artists on the label here, and generally expand the content I'm offering. It'll all be very similar to what I'm offering here already, just with more artists involved!

When?
I plan to announce the label publicly in December (possibly late November)! As for the Patreon, I don't plan to make any changes until our first release in January, so it'll be business as usual around here for a good while!
