You (Scrapped Rotti Track)

I have a bit of an embarrassing anecdote to share today to go along with this week's track! I don't think I've revealed what I'm about to share anywhere before.
Well, here's the jist: after making the album Solanin, I had no idea what direction I wanted to go in. And I don't only mean with my next album, but as an artist in general. Keep in mind: I only had one album prior to Solanin and it was "Bird": a noisy, drone-y mess that had nothing to do with Future Funk in any way, shape or form. At this time I really didn't have my own sound or identity like people might know me for now.
As a result, I experimented with a different sound entirely. I'm sharing this one track with you guys, but truth is, there's an entire album out there with this sound that I scrapped. It's kind of crazy how much work I put into an LP only to scrap it for what eventually became Rotti (an album I'm not particularly fond of by any means). I doubt I would have liked this LP any more if I'd released it, but I suppose it was important in the process of finding my own sound.
Anyway, I suppose I'll leave it at that. If I keep going, I might start ranting about how much I dislike Rotti. Which is a lot. But I digress. Take care everyone! I have big things planned for the future! Thanks for everything. - m
