Podcast Episode 7

PSA- DO NOT use how I feel to invalidate other black people who feel how they feel. Thanks :)

Note: Teddy Park did NOT actually produce "Batter Up" that was my mistake however him having a similar sonic formula for Meovv says a lot.

In this episode, I'm briefly unpacking the backlash and obsession surrounding TARZZAN, ALLDAYPROJECT, and expanding on my feelings regarding YG Entertainment Teddy and The Black Label. Why do fans react the way they do?  What’s behind the hate — and what are our TRUE intentions behind the dragging?

Most of my takes may be unpopular opinions but that's how I feel which doesn't take away from how you should feel!

Would appreciate more comments on the podcast pages too if you're able!

Yess goofy, carefree and i'll even add misguided and genuinely ignorant and hoepfully he realises what he needs to do to get a better standing!

I actually like these podcasts so I can listen while I’m driving!! Ohh Tarzan. When I heard his stage name I was already thinking this guy can’t take life seriously. When I SAW Tarzan & how he looked like at debut, I was shocked cus I actually researched him years ago cus he starred in G-ildes music video for I Do. I thought he was so cute! Here’s a link for g-idles - I Do If you haven’t watched it to see chaewon before he became Tarzan. https://youtu.be/pCh3Kp6qxo8?si=g92IPmFparT5ySa2 But anyways, I was initially turned off about his whole persona but after watching a random vlog all day project dropped, I was like this guy just seems so goofy and carefree. Like he’s actually really likable if you can look past wtv is happening on his outer appearance. I do hope he can tone it down and find his own style that isn’t too over the top still though. Lol Of course it’s not my place to comment on cultural appropriation or not but I know it’s a thin line between cultural appropriation and cultural appreciation. I hope he leans more towards the latter.

I have been a Kpop fan for a while and I kind of cam into Kpop via YG, I watched a YGFAMILY concert lol. I'm also non black so I try to stay out of this discourse but I think it honestly feels so disingenuous and attention seeking from them. Everyone over there has been called out 1000 times for this its something they're incredibly educated on. They like to stir up controversy I think because what other reason would you have for doing something so avoidable. The braids are a concept it's not the hair he lives in so what is the need to tread that line. I think its so attention seeking it put me off even more.
