AHO- I mean AFLOP Album

This could've been so great but so much was underwhelming and executed in the worst ways. El Captxin will pay. This felt like a Japanese debut and lacked so much in terms of energy and vocals.
At least with the chase the production was stellar at hello whilst this is sooo forgettable omg. I'm bringing up the chase because the critiques are similar - low energy debut. I kinda feel sorry for them but on the plus side there only place to go is up I guess.

2025-07-04 07:03:46 +0000 UTCAgreed. I was thrilled with the overflowing talent in AHOF, but I had a hard time finishing their album in its entirety as I was getting bored. Whereas with Close Your Eyes, though I was originally skeptical of their final lineup I’ve had their album on repeat. The recent teasers for Snowy Summer has got me hyped for their comeback. It’s such a creative concept that I haven’t seen before.

And you absolutely can pull off the softness when songs are more energetic or have interesting melodies or vocal highlights, but this entire thing is not that. It's generic. They need better creative direction and a better producer. For comparison, I felt a little iffy about Close Your Eyes when the lineup was revealed, but when their creative director was unveiled I knew things would be okay. The creative director, Lee Hae-In, worked with Kiss of Life before leaving after she felt they were recognizable enough (and because KIOF's company picked "Get Loud" as the title track over the song she actually wanted to be the title track - "Igloo" (guess which song actually got popular lol)). She then started directing Close Your Eyes, and in behind the scenes video content she's seen encouraging the members to get involved creatively. She's a god send. All this so say - AHOF's company needs to do more. And El Capitxn sucks for this AND for his weird misogyny thing with ARTMS last month. I have a feeling he might be in a weird ego trip since he got popular popular, and his work has been slightly declining since. Nothing like the male ego to prop up mediocrity (I'm really annoyed because how do you get JL and Han in a group and waste it??? Like what????).

2025-07-04 01:08:58 +0000 UTCThoughts after watching: See you also mentioned the Bigbang thing lol, the mv reminded me of &team too a bit actually The song is not doing too bad in Korea for an unknown company and unpopular surival show debut but like I mentioned before, I think they're playing it all really safe and while I like the songs, I know the members have potential behind what they were given to work with. And something more creative and more album variation would have served them well. I think it definitely leaves room for growth and I hope F&F don't take several centuries for the comeback like they did with debut and listen to feedback on ways to improve quality
