some 3d printables updates

so, the first ally and lisa prints are successful both in 60 cm size and 30 cm just so we can make sure that they retain both their details and functionality to a reasonable degree. that stl will be releasing soon, and after that there's a bunch more stuff in development. currently working on a more compositionally ambitious suspension based idea where it looks way more precautious than it actually is :P we'll see how it turns out. more news soon!

I want to buy a resin printer just so I can have both this, and the Heureca statue. They are absolutely gorgeous.

Scott Vandiver

the rope here is all either merged with the body or is just a stick of resin. the rope on the sculpture carries no weight , it only gives the illusion of doing so. engineering on this one is gonna be a bit clever but if everything works, quite reliable :)

stjepan sejic

how does the rope work with 3d printing, (I am a newbie 3d printer) I am curious if there is some trick to making it less fragile

Naomi + Selina

oh it's not a one legged pose. it's a 3 legged. don't worry. we got it covered ;)

stjepan sejic

My concern when I see one legged poses is their stability. With traditional molded resin the material might be strong enough even with pegs to secure the foot. I say might because I have ad problems with one legged poses breaking at the base. Printing resin is a lot more brittle. If you want a pose like the above the person printing is going to have to add a rod up her leg to spread the load.

Robert Kaliski

no, this is only for printing. no plans on crowdfunding any more statues. too expensive to make to ship and to buy

stjepan sejic

Is there gonna be a fundraising for statues again, or are we going to get the "plans" to print it ourselves? :)

Silke

I hope the STL is also available for FDM?

Jens Paschmann

FDM is ok. 0,2 nozzle works fine. I print the first Lisa bust with 0,4, and you can hardly see the layer at 0,3 m.

Jens Paschmann

that's why we paint them in the end XD

stjepan sejic

To be honest, that grinning, unpainted head is just disturbing. :-D

Seigmann

looks amazing

Sol-Edge

(Screaming, crying, throwing up) I'm almost finished setting my resin printer back up, this is just kicking my ass to finish asap 😂

Jo Murwood

wow, 60cm That huge. I cant wait to try to get one that big. Thank you for all you do for us

C

Eager to get a shot at printing those, even if I doubt being able to do justice to the paintjob .... still I'll try. I'll hope we'll get a Bauphette or some Death Vigil characters at some point in the future :)

Duport Guillaume

Take my money!

Jack Hallows

she's on the to do list for sure

stjepan sejic

my first instinct was immediately to say, no... but then it occurred to me that it would probably be shockingly easy to make the swap heads so... maybe?

stjepan sejic

Any of chance we get a varient of ally tied up and Lisa as the dom?

Jack Hallows

Really looking forward to printing all of these. Really hoping we get a statue of Merryl, she's my favorite.

Jon Vines

I really have to begin considering getting a resin printer. XD

Tero Säärelä

I've got a repurposed 4,500$ dental printer, no files have been more deserving to be printed on it than these! Currently working on the Lisa bust, lotta failures, but gonna be so very worth it!

Quin Klapwyk

I can't wait! Now to find someone to print them...

Jeremy Blankenship

That red looks good on Ally

Brian Byrnes

nice, i'm getting my first 3d printer very soon :)
