Added 2025-04-02 19:59:24 +0000 UTCI'm teasing cos this wasn't actually awful, just safe and uninspiring towards the more I got into the album.
I'll give props though to the title track, ESPECIALLY the outro! Now did everything tickle my brain and excite me like I would've liked? Not quite.
I've never dissected and had so many thoughts come to me during an album reaction like this because I REAALLLY wanted to pin point where they missed the mark here and I think they're label just lacks vision because if you compare this to ARrC with Nu Kidz or EVNNE with Hot mess OR MAMA Said Kickflip, you start to hear how dated it all feels. The references are great but they didn't bring anything new which not everyone needs tbh, but for me to be gagged I want something fresh.
The choreo didn't do anything exciting either which is a shame.
Vocally also, besides mr deep voice, the main vocal moments did not please my ears much. Someone on discord did mention that there was controvery cos they didn't have a strong vocalist in the line up. I strongly agree.
Nonetheless, they may get it right in the future so i'll keep an eye and the songs might catch me in the right mood once my expectations are in a different space but they have a lot of great competition fighting for my ears!
And also, I know it's rhythm & blues but bass came to my mind as a double meaning for the B.

2025-04-12 17:48:10 +0000 UTCI started listening to them because of your all my poetry reaction and MICAH PLEASE I cannot emotionally afford to get into another temporary group tbh I’ve had the album on loop it’s got some great vibes and the first song on the album gives me early txt feelings (magic island, maze in the mirror, etc) also cool to see an 8 song debut album in the new jeans day and age of 1-4 song comebacks lmao

2025-04-07 12:25:06 +0000 UTCI was interested in this group bcs of the aesthetic in their trailer, but listening to this album it fell a bit flat for me and I think it is bcs their is not really much happening in the vocal department. They just do the same in every song and would like more diversity or something. I am in no way a vocal expert but when I listen to an album I like a little more diversity. I hope someone understands what I am saying here. But I still like some of the songs tho.
