I don't even think she genuinely needs to release anything else after this LOOOL. I've never experienced anything like this. EASILY the BEST solo debut I've ever seen from a K-pop artist.
She is a creative and musical genius, her vision for what she wants to say and express comes across SOOOO authentically it's jaw dropping. Her range whilst remaining cohesive shows how brilliant she is.
I GROSSLY underestimated her simply because of the same reductive music YG gives Blackpink when she had ALL OF THIS bottled up inside of her.
Thank you for blessing my ears Jennie Kim.

Normal relationship topics with great sound and production. I also get to hear many vocal styles from Jennie: light, rough, charming, hurt, dreamy... I'm very happy with this album!

I was waiting to see how you would react to filter, since it's my favorite song. Also that part in starlight, yeah it had to grow on me but I love the album and I'm so proud and excited to see what jennie will do in the future! def my fave solo album that's come from BP

2025-03-15 03:13:15 +0000 UTCI loved pretty much all of this album, but when i first saw the M/V for Zen i was blown away. Honestly, it is just did something to me and has this impact that not many songs these days have. Twin was a surprise but i loved it as well. The emotion comes through so well.

Jennie was always the one in the group I was interested to see fully expressing herself because she is truly an artist in my eyes. From her fashion collabs, music features, contribution to songs, etc you could see a teaser of how creative she is. And while not every song is a 10 for me due to production, the album as a whole feels so complete that it ranks extremely high on my lists. I know a lot of people were skeptical about the amount of features in this album but I think they meshed together well with the sound and overall tone she showcased throughout the album.

I agree when you said she seems to have so much to say. I can't wait for her to say it, in whatever way she wants to. she thought of everything. the wardrobe was incredible, the album theme and cover was so fun, the music was cohesive but with a variety of flavor. she has songs meant for live settings and songs meant to listen on repeat in your car. she delivered. she was right to make a song like Like Jennie because her name rightfully holds weight in the industry she sprouts from. loved your reaction!

Although I think Rose also has a fairly clear and cohesive solo identity as well, Jennie's stuff is my personal favourite. Her unbothered queen type energy in Mantra really sealed the deal for me. I was actually kind of inspired by it in my real life lol..she has this feminine energy that's also so cool..kind of like a quiet, graceful strength..?! Anyways love her and glad she's been able to continue producing such high quality stuff! <3 <3

2025-03-10 22:03:06 +0000 UTCthis album was definitely one of my favorites of the year so far. i had neutral expectations after listening to lisa’s album until i saw that kali and childish gambino were on the track list and i knew i had to tune in. the andre 3000 influence during the rap was crazy and i thoroughly enjoyed damn right. my queen kali uchis can do no wrong so i was probably going to enjoy the song either way. dem jointz definitely cooked up for this album because filter is an INSANE track. such a crazy album overall

Thank you for reacting to her album. Her live performance of all her songs are amazing to she performed them at her mini concert. Live vocals were slaying.

She also helped produce and write most of the album which is likely what helps with the cohesion. This is the perfect example of what can be created when the artist takes their time and has a vision. I agree she could literally just never release again because this is so good👏. Although I definitely want more, even if it's in like 2+ years time

And I think it speaks highly that so many people who have heard it have different top 3, it says a lot about an album that doesn’t just have one strong song. To the point of authenticity, which has been such a debate with some of the other releases, I think Ruby does a phenomenal job of keeping alive this version of Jennie that has been ‘sold’ to us, the badasss, strong, fierce idol while also introducing a side that we assumed was there but never got to see both interns of vulnerability but also musicality. This album is not an “or” to the Jennie we knew in blackpink but an “and” If that makes sense.

I finally heard her rap in Korean I don’t think I ever have😭 She’s proving all her haters wrong, lazy dance where? Her voice is to die for.😫 This bitch on another level. Definitely my fav release of the year so far and definitely my fav of the BP solo releases. I came in with no expectations and was blown away. I have like Jennie and with the ie (way up) on repeat. I'm honestly interested to know how she plans to come back in the future after this because idk how one would lol. Like where do we go from here, very curious to know haha.

I figured she really done something with this album considering all the big collabs she got. Even with just the Visual teasers and Mantra I knew this album would atleast be solid. She knows her solo identity the best. Plus I always knew YG was holding them back like the were purposely making sure there solo stuff didn’t surpass the group.
