One thing I didn't mention in the reaction is that Mujin's microphone takes away a lot of the breathiness and huskyness I usually hear in her tone literally everywhere else? But it kinda felt intentional cos some songs had more of those qualities more than others.
Overall I feel like she got to like maaaaybe 80% of her capabilities in this which suits a vocal veteran juggernaut cos she did more with less whilst many others fight for their lives on this show lol.
I would LOVE for her album to have a song like Sabrina Carpenters Dumb + Poetic or FLO Breaking my rules. A girl can dream.

When she sang that cover of As Time Goes By, I spontaneously burst into actual tears---at first I was like why am I crying???? But then I realized it felt like hearing the Taeyeon I first fell in love with when she was promoting her first OST. Of course I love every version of her and her voice, but her lows will get me each and every time without fail. And then obv her & Mujin had to go and rip my heart out with their duet. It's fine, I'm fine....I'll be fine LOL

2024-12-25 16:04:06 +0000 UTCWhen they got to the final duet I was its only been like 10 minutes only for it to be like 30 minutes into the episode but it’s so easy to get wrapped in her voice and time just flew. That’s why I have to get to a concert no matter what. Her voice is just so versatile and melds so well with whatever genre she is trying I never get tired of it. Now it time to start manifesting a tiny desk appearance and maybe push my luck with a guesting on IU’s show. Merry Christmas or happy holiday Micah and thank you for this present.

2024-12-25 15:33:01 +0000 UTCKoreans love ballads and they love taeyeon singing ballad even more 😂..not to limit taeyeon as a singer but ballad is really one of her essence, like what you said, she's so great at delivering that sad emotions..she's called OST queen and you'd think she had a ton of OSTs when in fact she didn't...her OST just left a lasting impression like that..(i lowkey want her to release a sad song again, I don't mind the genre..like i support her being positive and all, and try to reflect that on her album, but throw us some sad songs once in a while taeyeon please) I also noticed the different sound, i think it's because when she sang letter to myself and i'm all ears she used MR from the actual songs instead of piano companion so maybe that affect the mixing too(?) idk about the technicalities, just making an uneducated guess here Ngl i was wondering how would you feel about the song choices in this mujin service before you posted this (yes i was waiting for this reaction), because like you said, she didn't fight for her life here, she's just chilling carrying the winter vibe and Christmas vibe throughout the show (maybe that's why they cut the part where they talked about melt away and both taeyeon and mujin sang parts of it, but i'm glad they at least released that part as a short on youtube), but i'm glad you enjoyed it and also pointed out things that i might not think much about while i was watching it (or maybe i'm little bit guilty thinking that things she did while singing is something expected/common because i'm so used to her, when in fact it's a quality that others might not have or a quality that sets her apart from the other singers) I need her kfans to request more singing shows to her instead of asking certain album versions 🥲 even though it's an unfortunate truth nowadays that the fastest way to deliver what you want to SM is by directly talking to Taeyeon...like this mujin service happened because fans talked to her face, despite the fans have been sending request idea weeks before the album release, hence why we got it now and not during her promotion period...she be doing works she's not supposed to since someone in that company didn't do their job properly smh

Taeyeon was born with a map in hand and she knows where everything is and the most efficient way to get there. As she grows older and her body changes, just like road closures and new construction, she changes how she gets to that location. She truly just knows her voice
