TWICE Strategy Album

The music itself is actually okay. I just don't think it feels TWICE-like but that's not necessarily a bad thing at this stage because it'll allow them to grow in this direction and they already have a 9 year discography to satisfy everyone.
The title track was one of my favourites at least so I hope it performs well!
I admire them as a group so much, still going STRONG.

i think with Twice and SVT, they are both in that phase in their career where they can afford to be experimental irregardless of how people engage with their act and i am really happy about that. like it could have been better but i'm happy that they are doing something different? i really love their past discography but i'm not gonna bug out if they are doing something different because it shows they are growing. like these are my feelings with both SVT (who i heavily bias) and Twice.

2024-12-13 11:39:50 +0000 UTCthe title is amazing.. as someone mentioned on twitter, i love love the fact that their english releases still feel like Twice, and not some dampened version of their sound or a copy of any western artist who's popular atm to cater to the west, even if it feels new, you can still feel Twice's essence in this song (and for all their previous english tracks too in my opinion). and i live for megan's part, she was such a good feature choice ! as for the album, to be honest im a bit disappointed. the songs are cute but i always have such high expectations for twice, i don't feel like any of them is really that memorable (if i hit shuffle i wouldn't be able to give you the title of anything that'd be playing until they literally say the title in the lyrics...) which is sad because i know jype is fully capable of giving them higher quality music (as they did for years) with fun moments that STAND OUT. even if i don't even think this is bad music, for twice it could definitely be way better.

I think you’re right about the album itself being a bit more experimental in sound, but I dont think its a bad direction! I do agree their other TT’s like Set Me Free and One Spark were more Twice-esque and memorable than this release, but I think they did a great job for this being their first collaboration with an artist like Meg. And Meg really did her thing on Strategy, as sometimes it seems like a weird disconnect whenever there are collabs with non KPop idols. As they can have the tendency to sound like a kpop song with a weird feature smooshed in somewhere instead of one cohesive piece. But Meg fit right on in with this one!

2024-12-12 18:04:32 +0000 UTCI can see where you’re coming from for sure! It still has a Twice feel imo but with some contemporary production choices. Like “Like it Like it” feels more like a Japanese b-side, while “Keeper” feels like it could slot in on More & More if that mini came out this year. Sweetest Obsession kind of feels like a synthesis of older cutesy twice and their current sound and is probs most representative of the 2023/2024 Twice vibe overall. I can see where it feels like a big departure but it also doesn’t feel like it’s an unnatural exploration. Either way, glad people are receiving Strategy so well it seems and hope they can keep exploring the sounds they want to!

Because other than hearing their actual voices I don't know if I would ever think this was a Twice album. Though I don't hate anything most of it just felt "meh." But Strategy mv killed it and shout out to Meg for showing up and being in the same room as them!

All the songs were in that okay range kinda like it has elements you'd normally like but something just doesn't click with me. Not gonna stop me from being once though! Just on to the next one for me lol - magical is cute though - def my fav bside! you def echoed my thoughts too
