TXT - GREAT songs and energy even with a member down! LOVED.
ZB1 - They were performing for their LIVES OMFG. Their energy was on top form and the songs sounded great. Jiwoong was a STANDOUT OMG.
Enhypen - MY YOUNG PRINCES. I'm definitely in Engeneville now, i know there's hella racists there but IDC. The styling, music, confidence, everything. They owned this. Gonna have to react to another concert of theirs now haha
Treasure - LIVE vocals and full on YG charisma! I enjoyed this. I really would like for them to deliver something strong next year, I also miss their variety content.
G-Idle - QUEENS. Live vocals effortlessly and they look amazing. They always bring something new to the table. Hope they stay a 5 with their name.
Katseye - HELLO!!!! Manon you were missed but man the other 5 HELD IT DOWN! I totally get why people were losing it over Yoonchae. She is PERFORMING and coming out of her shell so much I love it! !
Aespa - Effortless PRINCESSES. Held it down in the most chic way, i was suspecting in my mind that Giselle may have had an issue with her eyes and apparently she did but she OWNED it. Winter I'm in love with you.
I loved watched these. Looking forward to seeing more award show performances.

They say Ningning looks like Jennie, but she looks like Victoria from f(x) to me. Winter looks like SNSD’s Taeyeon. People think Giselle looks like Krystal from f(x). I also sometimes think Karina looks like Jessica Jung especially when she looks down at an angle and smiles.

Our delusion is that Soojin will somehow join them, or at least Soyeon who as soloist isnt attached to CUBE right now.

2024-11-24 18:02:02 +0000 UTCMy conclusion after watching enough Aespa performances is that if they seem restrained or reserved it’s deliberate, either because they can’t be asked or because they’re conserving energy for something bigger and more explosive. Giselle and Ningning ownedddd the catwalk so bad. I do wonder if Ningning is more reserved as a performer because she’s shyer/younger or because she’s been asked to fill that kind of role as a more mysterious and purposefully aloof presence (compared to Winter, for example, who has recently been smiling a lot more and expressing herself on stage vs. early debut days!). I’m ride or die for Ningning but I’d love to see her get to really unleash on stage, as she often seems to hold back a little more. She popped off sooo hard doing the Igloo challenge with Kiss of Life, and she has moments like the Supernova dance break or the “Fancy” line in Whiplash that show she has It.

Super proud of Yeonjun for opening with GGUM and having the entire arena cheer “Choi Yeonjun”. Think 2024 was definitely his year where he further proved his impact on kpop and the fashion world. Also proud of Kai and Beomgyu for doing so well on the Bass and Drums! The band performance was so fun to watch

Felt like they wanted to drum up publicity but ended up in a small theater that just made everything look cheap and tiny. How's that supposed to showcase kpop? And did you know they gave the longest performance time to JYP there? Imagine getting a bunch of young US fans into a venue and subjecting them to a nostalgia act like JYP, sigh... Japan stage was awesome. Japan is just a great place for live stadium performances. They should actually just do Mama there every year instead of Korea

They know they have high shoes to fill bc bts 2017-2019 award show performances were legendaryyyy. I also loved svt and bnd (even thought i don’t like the music) as well. Also YG knows stage presence like no other, I know some people don’t like the treasure boys but you can’t deny their potential if yg was actually competent 😭 Zb1 killed it as per usual I’m so sad this gem of a group is temporary and it’s such a failure on these companies that they can’t just work something out P.S Deja vu didn’t get enough love from the kpop world this year 🫠 everyone saying how much they kiss old kpop just ignored it and i’m so sad

Sad to see Manon absent, and annoyed that it seems there is always one of them missing, BUT it does show that they can all really bring it. I do wish Daniela had more center moments, but even so. The splits killed me and Yoonchae’s walk!? Lara’s stage presence?? They all ate. (I do hope they can showcase their VOCALS on this scale in the future)

2024-11-24 13:22:26 +0000 UTCahhhh i wish you reacted to gdragon/bigbang’s performance. definitely the performance of the night for me the energy was up there! literally got goosebumps overall mama 2024 was quite good tbh. ever since covid, mama hadn’t really done it for me as it was quite hard to top 2019 mama. but this year was actually really good. also referring to what you said at 1:03:03 , i genuinely think it’s because they’re not singing live. whenever i see them sing live occasionally, there’s a huge shift in their performance and energy; they literally own their songs. i feel like whiplash was fine without the live vocals since the performance is what stands out with that song, but supernova could’ve used some live vocals. especially during the chanting part of the song in the dance break. also, KATSEYE ATEEEEEEE!! they did not deserve that tiny stage. ive and katseye should’ve swapped venues lol. i’ve been saying to people since dream academy don’t sleep on yoonchae!!!! she’s so young so she’s only going to get better and better.

2024-11-24 10:33:53 +0000 UTCyou should def check out the translations for soyeon’s rap, probably one of my favorite performances considering how LIVE it was & how bold it was (they are def leaving cube after this one LOL) also i feel like ive give the same exact stage every award show 😂 am i crazy? i love ive but its just getting repetitive and boring, at least some of them sang live to make it better bc MOST of them usually don’t considering the katseye stage was so small & the camera work was atrocious, they made it SO big and so worth watching another good one you didn’t watch was boynextdoor, ik you don’t react to them but there stage was so good i can’t even lie, never mind the fact that they ALWAYS sing live you should check out the meovv/izna stage on your own time, the songs many not be up your alley but i personally think the stage presence & vocals on those girls made up for it

2024-11-24 10:15:31 +0000 UTCThe US performances watching it live were lacking the spectacle of the Grand MAMA performances. They only had Young Posse, JYP, RIIZE, Katseye, Illit, and TWS performed. Katseye, JYP, and TWS were the only ones I felt put together half decent MAMA performance on for the space that they were given. There was also a lot of tension in that theater from what I am hearing revolving around SM and Riize from the security taking anything to do with orange/ Riize is seven/ chanting. I just think even though it was monumental for it to be in the US it should stay in Japan also, the groups that did perform in US have a bigger following in Japan so it made no sense in my opinion. I do think if this was all about letting Katseye perform, but HYBE has more then enough money to send them to Japan because that performance should be on a stage not in a theater, and TWS and illit are rookies so they deserve the big mama rookie performance because no offence to the rookies that did perform in Japan their performance were a little lack luster missing the grandness of it all. Also those were the two rookie groups that won their respective award, and it was obvious who would win those rookie awards why have them perform on a smaller scale they should have been in Japan with a better crowd. My favorite performances were BOYNEXTDOOR (idols reactions were so funny), Treasure, G-Dragon, TXT, Enhypen, Katseye, G idle (calling out cube top notch).
