Forty One Winks is truly Shinee coded and was a pleasant surprise. The way I was hoping it'd have a performance video meanwhile I'd forgotten i'd already que'd up their live performance of it.
TXT remain one of the most versatile and exciting groups in the industry who are definitely in their stride!

2024-11-29 09:28:06 +0000 UTCI haven't connected with a comeback from TXT since Lovesong honestly. The whole freeze album was imo when they peaked. I've been waiting for something to hit like that did. I need them to come back with a song that makes my jaw DROP like that one did. (Namjoon & Slowrabbit I'm begging you to be on their creative team again). Give TXT a full 6 months of rest and then get them a full length studio album with solo songs, subunits, the works. I don't know what BigHit is doing with them. And I say all this actually liking this album overall. She's cute. But we have seeeeen txt hit their potential. (For the love of god give them one song over 3min too.)

Was waiting for your reaction for this one!๐ they also released some behind and dance practices too if you wanted to check those out, because vocally they seemed to grow a lot this album

Just like you, I'm a big fan of their emo era/rock sound, i do understand they should try a different sound but yeah not my vibe at all. I was waiting for your reaction, though, since I kind of guessed you would notice their vocal growth. Also what do we have to do to stop this damn trend of short songs?!!!! i'm so tired!!! On a positive note: they've already released the behind-the-scenes recording and the dance practice! Also, they went on the Lee Youngji show, The Seasons, where they did a cover of Love Story by Taylor Swift and a band version of Loser Lover (in case you want to check it out too).

My personal favorite song off the album was Danger because I loved how funky it was, but Forty One Winks was a huge standout for me too. I found it very early BTS coded, like 2014/2015-ish. I could see it fitting especially well on either HYYH pt 1 or pt 2, but it also feels very much in line with a schoolboy concept as well to me so maybe Skool Luv Affair or one of the softer tracks on Dark & Wild if I stretch? Either way, I enjoyed the sound from them. I love this album, it's probably my favorite TXT album because it has sounds I really enjoy, but I also think the tracks on the album are just a liiiiitle too short. The songs really could have had some life breathed into them even more if they had a bridge and maybe one more run of their respective choruses and also if they gave the boys an opportunity to do more adlibs. I know the music industry is really into these short easily replayable songs nowadays and they're nice as is, but man imagine what some of these songs could have been with a longer run time to allow more complexity and depth to be added to the songs.

I was so happy with the songs and I'm loving this mature direction from them. Also I'm glad you watched forty one winks performance because they were EATING especially yeonjun.
