Do you have the FINISHED products of those DC tryptiches...I'd LOVE to print a hi-res of BOTH of them. I recall the covers really impressed me when they came out.... Pretty please????

Not speaking for Sejic's experience, but I was at a con panel a view years ago specifically about this. At a legal level in the US, it is all copywrite infringement if there is no permission. The major brands tend to ignore local level artists and sales, for example people selling their art at a convention, but there have been cases where popular drawings being sold online received a cease and desist. Where it gets fuzzy in this context is that Sejic was hired for some of these DC projects. The Mera for example is likely from the run of Aquaman he did for DC. likely as it's a level of promotion (I literally bought the run because of Sejic's art in it) DC won't be sending any letters, but as far as what rights he has to is own work with DC own characters I don't know.

Just a random copywriter question: do you need to get DC’s permission to draw characters like Mira or is it considered fan art and protected? It’s one thing if I pull out crayons and draw Mira but you are a world class comic artist. In theory you could sell your versions. Is that when it gets tricky? Post for free no big deal, try selling it and you get a cease and desist letter?
