NCT Dream Dreamscape album
Added 2024-11-12 11:11:09 +0000 UTCWELL, it was literally after I finished filming everything and went to discord and saw half the guys apologising for this album?? On one hand it validated my thoughts on not understanding or feeling the album at all, something was sonically off for me however there were still many great moments, I don't think it required an apology.
I'm sure it's a learning curve for them, you don't always get things right and that's okay. Negativity provides the best opportunities to grow!
The vocals are STELLAR in this album and I feel like i heard Jisung sing a whole lot more! Looking forward to the recording behinds if we get some!

2024-11-15 02:10:10 +0000 UTCohh wow. i actually think that this album is one of their best music-wise and i’ve seen many people think the same, so seeing this reaction + the comments here kind of came to me as a shock. i think what i noticed is that most of the people who loveee this album is the demographic of people that love dream’s bright, lighthearted and dreamy songs, like rainbow, never goodbye, ANL, etc. and for those who prefer their stronger, or darker sounds, i think i can get why this album would feel weak and boring. it’s just so interesting to me to see this 50:50 split in opinions. people either really love it or kinda hate it. also, i just wanted to clarify this: the members weren’t apologising for the lack of quality of the album music-wise, they were more so referring to the album design, the rollout and the overall management of this comeback. i just don’t want people to misunderstand and think that they are disappointed about this album and don’t like it. in fact, the members, especially mark have expressed how excited they were for the album to come out and how good they think the album and the songs are. they have much pride and love for this album too, so do a lot of their fans. hope this clears the misunderstanding. thanks for the reaction though! always appreciate the honest feedback :)

2024-11-14 19:01:13 +0000 UTCI quite liked Best of Me because I felt the chorus had that darker, broody NCT sound that I know from some 127 songs. It’s a shame that the song didn’t really go anywhere. My favorite was definitely heavenly (an instant NCT classic imo), but other than that, there wasn’t much else that was very memorable to me. SM, please give Mark more singing lines. He has such a tender voice when he sings softly that I’m amazed they don’t. I get that when you have like four rappers in a group it can be tough to distribute vocal lines, but his voice provides such a contrast to the other singers that I think it’s necessary.

2024-11-13 23:39:04 +0000 UTCI'm really sad that I didn't enjoy this more, especially because of how much I loved the story of the first dreamscape ep with unknown, breathing, icantfeelanything etc. I understand what you were saying about some of it sounding like a soundtrack rather than normal album. Also does anyone else here Stranger Things in the song You, or is it just me? I'm really happy Jisung is getting more moments to shine, I just wish the label hadn't released so soon bc dream is still on tour. I think it needed more time to be developed and reworked in terms of message and sound.

I haven't really loved a whole nct dream album since glitch mode so not surprising. I feel that this more generic sound doesn't really fit dream. Like, I like them in brighter concepts in comparison to stuff like smoothie but there needs to be a balance. Like it seems like SM thinks that only once NCT unit can be bright, but there's bright and there's generic. Like WISH is whimsically bright in their music and I almost wish for some a bit anthemic in DREAM's music in comparison. Now I respect the work the Dreamies put into this album but honestly, I would have preferred to hold off on another album till next year. A bit more fleshed out in comparison to what we got. It's not like SM doesn't know how to put together a great album, 127's Walk should be proof enough. BTW, will you be reacting to Wish's recording behind for Steady. Jaehee was pretty impressive there.

2024-11-12 22:58:13 +0000 UTCI don’t why I quite like the intro and the title track the songs called you, night poem and no escape. Flying kiss was pretty at first but I did not enjoy the chorus. I did not enjoy the rest of the album. I tend to rarely like the whole album of dreams so for me it feels more like normal. The title track gave me shinee vibes rather than exo strangely. Anyway they are working all the time and making too many albums. I am old so I prefer quality over quantity. I feel the scrutiny is too much. The culture over there is very intense. It looks like a clear divide between the rest of the world and K-nctzen for some reasons…

2024-11-12 21:28:36 +0000 UTCAgree with everyone here. I honestly love that they were more pop forward with the album, but the songs just don’t have that magic that I love about dream. I was hoping they would explore the concept they had with the mini album earlier in the year, even though this is a continuation it doesn’t feel like they are connected at all. My favorite may be night poem just because I love the melody of the chorus, but I was overall disappointed.

2024-11-12 19:30:11 +0000 UTCI really enjoyed the intro too although I don't see a lot of people enjoying it 🥲 Dream do tend to lean more on the pop side, so maybe they're still trying to find a balance of a more mature pop sound for them. I did enjoy their vocals in this album though and yey for Jisung getting to showcase his singing voice more.

The album is totally my style but I do understand how ppl aren’t enjoying it. Just wish the guys knew they dont have to apologize for things out of their control :(

2024-11-12 12:17:00 +0000 UTCdefinitely not may favorite project but i did really enjoy no escape and i revisit that song quite a bit. it's really sad though that sm scheduled this album in the middle of a tour so the album felt a bit rushed. but knetz trying to blame the members for shitty management was so uncalled for and that led to them apologizing for their company's mistakes once again.
