DAY6 Entropy Album

After listening to the album I can definitely understand why although I feel like the middle of it got a bit tooo confusing and experimental for my tastes.
Vocally they definitely know how to deliver, no surprises there and I'm EXTRA annoyed that I naturally fell for Jae the most. It's like I enjoy PAIN you know?! His melodic choices and ad libs are my favourite followed very closely by Wonpil who I'm super intrigued by.
I think I'd like to check out an album of theirs that is more band heavy as opposed to production so there's hope yet!
I had fun though overall.

Sunrise is definitely their most bandy album, it also contains a lot of their iconic, more well known songs. My personal favorites are this album(🥲) and gravity(feel good vibes). If you love Jae, some reccomendations are: Safe in the rain(more exciting melodic choices) Pacman(solely for that last note) Sober go away(no clue what to call this kind of song, but it's bouncy in a sinister way)

2024-10-21 13:51:27 +0000 UTCi have so many things to say about day6 but i'm gonna stop myself (or else i WILL write books in your comments) but really i would love it if you could listen to the song 121U maybe one day ? as someone else said i really recommend listening to their Sunrise album if you want more of a band feeling (fun fact, their sunrise and moonrise albums are compilations of the songs they released for their "Every Day6" project, where they released 1 single album - with a single (with a mv) and a bside in each one, with a different style every time ofc - per month of the year 2017, and did a concert a month with diff performances too idk i feel like we don't talk enough about how crazy that was so...)

2024-10-15 17:48:51 +0000 UTCOk I did give it a quick relisten and as a heads up though…you may not like Gravity as it’s a very ‘happy’ sounding album about falling in love even though I find the songwriting really good. I’d still recommend Remember Us more highly as its concept is more nostalgic and the emotional quality is a bit more varied.

Gosh I wish he didn't leave. I may listen to his EP off camera or on if I think there's demand for it. Okay Maybe I'll do gravity or remember us next!

2024-10-15 17:29:44 +0000 UTCYes!!! Omfg I remember selling so hard for Entropy during the live for the Killing Voice…Day6 shooters rejoice we made it AHHHH!! I KNEW you would fw Deep in Love it’s one of my all time favourites of theirs, so anthemic and feel-good It’s sooo funny you love Jae’s voice because he is also my favourite, not just as a singer but also as a composer/songwriter. Some of my favourite Day6 tracks are in his last album with them, Negentropy, which has his fingerprints all over it. They are still great but they do NOT sound the same without him. He has that airy, breathy quality but also the ability to really vary his voice with very interesting and emotional choices and beautiful runs, and turn up the power when he has to. His latest EP, When the Rain Stopped Following Me, has some excellent pop songwriting on it and great vocal moments if you’re interested 👀 As for more Day6, their earlier albums Moonrise and Sunrise probably have the most band-sounding production. (There’s also their Japanese album but I don’t think you’ll enjoy that) For a balance between pop and rock, Gravity and Remember Us are really excellent projects in my view!! Thank you again for this.

It also didn't hurt that Young K went to high school with some people i knew but i am so happy that people are recognizing them because their first album still makes me cry till today!

2024-10-15 11:58:30 +0000 UTCohhhh I wasn’t expecting a Day6 reaction!!! tbh I’m only familiar with a couple of their title tracks because I’m not the biggest indie/soft rock fan (which is what my impression was of them). That first song was sooo good though, it took me by surprise! I was also annoyed when Jae ended up being my favourite vocalist ahaahaha, the way he sings his lines in Zombie especially is so pretty. I listened to their most recent album (Band Aid) which I think would be considered more band-y. So maybe check that one out??? It made me really happy to see them dominate the charts with Band Aid, its nice to see an older artist who were sort of underrated have their time in the spotlight. I hope Xdinary Heroes also has their time too but their music style I would say is more emo (?) and heavy, which I don’t think the Korean public are too obsessed with. However, who knows?
