YUTA Debut Album

VOCALS VOCALS VOCALS!

I'm very proud of Yuta for putting his all in to this. Though this is not the genre I go to, it was a joy to listen to cos of the vocal production and hidden melodic moments that please my ears lool.

Also the chord progressions in general leaned more towards pop sounds I'm used to so it worked for me!

I'll love for him to do some sickening live performances that showcase how great the music is.

Enjoy!

Yeah it is definitely giving l'arc-en-ciel and HYDE, it's apparently a big inspiration of his which is definitely noticeable

Reminiscent of my jpop, jrock pre-kpop days like l'arc-en-ciel (lol my age is showing), gackt, one ok rock, etc. I've always pictured Yuta doing some Jpop-rock so i'm so happy he went with this direction. SM, please don't waste his vocals anymore

Ahhhhh makes sense! Yeah he brought it!

Once again why I love to hear your opinion - i always appreciate someone that can distinguish quality, authenticity and just some great vocals, even when it's not necessarily your favourite genre (just like with xdinary heroes) I love this from Yuta, it just oozes authenticity and genuineness, you can tell that he loves what he's doing and I'm always going to value that! It also shows his versatility too because boy do I love his voice on a good rnb track! I did read somewhere that he's been getting vocal lessons in this style for a while, knowing he wanted to release some solo work in this genre. He also is all over the credits, so i also appreciate people putting in the work! And as a Yuta bias, I'm very proud of him 😂💖

I’m kinda loving this album. This was definitely more my style, before I found kpop. Love hearing his vocals and him performing his own songs. So proud of him.

This is giving MCR and bring me the horizon and Im so impressed.

TMJ18

nah, i was not expecting this at all. he did such an amazing job for his debut album

Stella

this has been on repeat since it came out! the more i listen the more early to mid 2000s punk rock it sounds. Save you sounded very metal rock

Stella

Coming off an EXO deep dive, and some of their stadium rock moments -- where Chen's voice is bursting through the atmosphere -- were vocally impressive, but not as authentic as this Yuta solo. No shade to LaLisa, but THIS is a rockstar who can teach me Japanese (hai hai). Feels genuine to his own style as Jamal's album was to his inspirations. Digging the vocals and visuals, aura on 11. It's like he's singing the OST of my fave anime, and looks like he could play the dark hero in a live adaptation of said anime.

i am so proud of yuta!! this is so very him and i'm so happy he got to put so much of himself into an album and show it to the world. i've seen so much positive feedback for this album, i hope he realizes how loved and admired he is in this life. whether it is SM or avex, i just wish there was more promotion for the album :/ after this and 127's cb with walk it really just makes me wish SM had utilized his vocals more with previous albums but i'm happy he got to do this for himself now!

ciara morris

this isn’t my style either but it’s always a great experience listening to an artist who is passionate about what they do!!

bateman bookworm

But SM isn't handling this really it's Avex so I assume the responsibility is theirs.

Koko3op

I really liked this album!! It feels totally Yuta. A very easy to listen to rock album :)

Linz

I agree that this isn’t my go to style however, I do think this style suits Yuta’s voice as well as vocal style! What would really do it for me though is hearing him on a sickening R&B and/or power ballad track! I wish his vocals were highlighted more in NCT’s tracks because he is an amazing singer!

KANE

This man should be singing more in the NCT songs 😀😀😀😀

Akshi Ankita

The fact that Yuta has writing and composing / arranging credits on 6 out of 7 of these songs as well!! It shows how authentically this music comes out of him and his love for the genre…just insane artistry from someone who never got the spotlight to shine until now. So proud!

edamammy

I don’t like how SM is not properly promoting him!!

LunaLunar

This album is everything. I love rock music and it felt very mid 00s taking me back to junior high/ high school Incubus, Hoobastank, and even Chevelle vibes at times. Of all the NCT solos thus far, this has to be my favorite which is shocking because Jaehyun's debut was top tier for me. I'm so happy with the production and his vocals, and to just see him slay the genre he loves. Can't wait to see what he does next.

Kym

Definitely!! I feel like my high school/ college self would eat this up!!

LunaLunar

Yuta definitely brought out my high school rocker phase with this album. I thought it was so so good! I love that he really showed everyone what he's capable of when it comes to vocals and writing. Very proud of him and all the neos so far with their solos. They all are really showing us who they are outside of the group and it's a joy to experience and they haven't let me down. Excited for Mark and Heachan next year.
