To be sooo effortlessly smooth has its positives and negatives. On the positive, he can EASILY achieve something people could never train for or learn. On the downside, it can be underwhelming and predictable.
I don't have an issue with his range and how he uses it so that's not the issue. It would be nice to see him do something unexpected especially when it comes to tempo and volume, ever so slightly.
His runs though are EASILYYY some of the best I've heard in K-pop, as well as his phrasing. Both are effortless and always a pleasant surprise.
The duet is also one of my favourites for sure.

2024-09-02 21:24:27 +0000 UTCI know I already screamed at you bc of the Lemonade cover (the amount of filipino ukelele covers on YT is actually criminal & embarrassing lmfaoooo) but finally getting around to watching this and I agree with you & others that his breathing techniques got room for work. I feel like he's focused on adding all his little flavor bits but he hasn't gotten around to thinking about how they all connect in the big picture. His tone is so nice I'll overlook it but I hope it's something he keeps working on bc theres sooooo much potential.

I feel like Jaehyun lets out all of his breath at the end of phrases and then take another breath for the next phrase so thatβs why he feels out of breath to me. BUT I still really like his voice. My fave was the Korean ballad!

2024-08-28 09:53:21 +0000 UTCi'm so glad jaehyun was on mujin service! i also felt that his song choices were slightly predictable but his voice is just sooo lovely that i'm glad that he gets to show that side to the general public since i feel that he is still sometimes overlooked (as a vocalist) compared to some of the other nct members (though ofc those other members def deserve their praise too). anyways i really enjoyed your reaction and i'm so happy that he was able to showcase his talent! for me personally, this was my favorite mujin service duet ever!!! but i may be biased b/c i saw bruno major sing fair-weather friend live in 2019 and hearing this song again brought back so many wonderful memories!!
