More albums like this please. Vocals full of life, layering and delivery. Alive production that's fresh and doesn't follow the same rhythm and groove all the way through out.
This is a true MASTERPIECE.

2024-08-04 10:49:47 +0000 UTCNot gonna lie, Fact Check was just not it for me outside of a few songs (Space, Je Ne Sais Quoi, Love is Beauty, Misty) and it made me apprehensive to listen to this album. I didn't want to be disappointed. I finally got around to listening to the album this week. This album is so good and helped me figure out why Fact Check didn't work for me and why the rest of their albums did. Fact Check was truly the first NCT album that I didn't like overall and that shook me. Fact Check seemed scattered. It just seemed like a collection of songs, some of them not great (looking at you Angel Eyes), versus an album with a direction. It could be the track order. The production, the vocals, and the direction, it is all working together to create a great listening experience for this album (and their previous albums). No song seems out of place other than maybe the last track, which feels like the obligatory fan song. Every song has stand-out moments. It just feels very intentional as an album and expands their sound in a meaningful way. Or rather it deepens their catalogue. They've had songs with this sort of hip-hop/r&b production before, but never an entire album focused on it. They've always leaned more in the direction of trap and EDM with their hip-hop tracks (e.g. Gas). This feels like they explored different ways of using this style so it feels very fresh and not repetitive. I had the album on repeat the entire day. This album is easily within their top 3. My stand-out songs (fighting the urge to list the entire album): Wall to Wall, Walk, Orange Seoul, No Clue (specifically the pre-chorus and post-chorus), Can't Help Myself, RAIN DROP (!!!!!!!!)

2024-07-21 04:16:56 +0000 UTCI was kind of expecting Fact Check to be their magnum opus because I felt that it was their strongest, most confident, and most passionate album yet. But like you, this album just blew me away. My jaw was on the floor the entire listen. It's such a perfect storm of them as mature artists, incredibly polished production, and a selection of songs that have just enough ideas in them. My biggest issue with music today is that even a lot of good songs feel like they're several ideas short of a full and fleshed out song (and that's why so many of them are only like 2-2:30 long) but these songs were *so so full*. Thank you once again NCT127 for delivering, and thank you for the reaction!

Suddenly, no clue, can't help myself and pricey are my favourites but I'm obsessed with Taeil's line in wall to wall, CHILLS! I don't usually listen to albums in their entirety because there's always a song I don't vibe with but since Monday I've had this album on repeat! AOTYYY

I enjoy Walk, but I feel like the bridge could’ve been better. It’s really my only complaint about the actual title track though.

2024-07-19 17:10:07 +0000 UTCI'm absolutely in love with this album! This is my fav album from them! I love all of the NCT units, but NCT 127, specifically, just does something to me. The musicality and the harmonies are just 🤌. I can't decide which is my fav song on the album. It has to be between Time Capsule, Can't Help Myself, and Suddenly. Yuta is really standing out on this album and I'm also so happy to see Mark singing more. A group of stars. I'm a fan of many groups, but I never thought I would stan anyone outside of BTS. I'm still Army first, but damn, NCT 127 has me in a choke hold, too! Side note: The vibe of this album...the R&B Hip Hop vibe...I hope it's something we get from my guys when they all come back together...at least from JK.

2024-07-16 23:26:46 +0000 UTCwhen i heard orange seoul for the first time i was blasted back to when my dad would play me music just like that as a kid, and in a way this album got me to bond with him really sweetly <3 instantly my album of the year and i already have a super soft spot for it. i showed him walk, orange seoul, and time capsule and he adored it and we had such a good time together! so glad the rest of the world is on the same page, this album is a masterpiece. dare i say 127's magnum opus my dad's 55 turning 56 this year, and a massive old hip-hop head, so i had a feeling this would be up his alley. i cant stress enough how much i love this album also he REALLY liked doyoungs voice lol he said that his voice was a standout for him and as a doyoung bias i have to say.. well yes! loved revisiting this album with you, its so enjoyable to see you listen to good music uninterrupted and have so much high praise for them. its satisfying to see you love and enjoy music!

Oh boy oh boy oh boy, I was so wrong. As you said, it's a masterpiece. It felt like an album put out by a Western artist after five years of obscurity...and even better. That's why it pains me to see them incomplete. And the fact that SM didn't properly promote such a fantastic album... Gosh, I wish they got to promote other tracks months before the album's release. Kinda like what Western artists usually do or like what XG, aespa or RIIZE did.

They've stayed so consistent with their sound but still manage to AMAZE ME as an 8 year old group. Neo-zone...sticker...2 baddies...fact check...and now walk. That is a CRAZY album run back to back and it feels like their sound and quality just keeps getting better and better wtf. Like you said, Jaehyun and Yuta are stand outs for this album. Especially Jaehyun (yes I'm biased but idc), he's been having more rap sections and has been EATING in that sultry lower register, but then he can do shit like that run at the end of pricey. Bitch what? Call him a vers bc this man is VERSATILEEEEE

I have a lot of nct song on my playlist but this is the first time where almost every song of the album is going to be in my playlist. The intro was crazy! It really set the mood for the rest of the album. I have to listen so many more times for me to decide a favorite because I enjoyed every single song. 127 are amazing. I'm so happy that they have so many members with differing, unique vocal tones and styles that create great dynamics, vocal textures, and variety in the songs.

The way I screamed Jaehyun's name every 2 seconds of this album!!! Man did he shine! Yuta too!!! I've been dying for Yuta to get more lines so we can see more of his potential and this was was a great surprise. This was conceptually a beautifully well done album. Pricey & Rain Drop are my faves. I had to edit to add that I usually skip intros because they're not great but this one was awesome. SM has been in their bag lately and I love to see it. This may be a new favorite album although for me 2 Baddies was peak.

I was wondering if the drop in music quality from SM last year had anything to do the fact that LSM owned/founded Ekko music rights where a lot of SM mainstay producers were signed under. So we just had to suffer until Kreation Music Rights was launched.

This was such a vocal fest. The instrumentals, production and everything was just amazing. I don't know what is happening with SM this year, but I hope it continues when they will produce EXO and SHINee albums lol. The songs are the types of songs that you will discover new vocal layers or instrumental the more you listen to it.

2024-07-15 23:46:00 +0000 UTCOh, my god. Just an insane album. Like you said, the production had so much care put into it, and the cohesion - that's not very common in SM albums I feel like. I normally end up throwing NCT's songs into playlists, but this is gonna be an album I go out of my way to listen through as an album in track order. Mark end flow in Wall to Wall was nuts, the best NCT rap ever frankly. The vocalists were vocalin-ing, I particularly really enjoyed Doyoung, Jaehyun and surprising Johnny (I'm so glad they've limited the amount of cringe inducing enlish raps he gets that he unfortunately doesn't have the delivery for). Not particularly pleased with the use of AI in Wall to Wall for Taeyong and much more appreciate the lego version of him in Meaning of Love. I think my favorites just from this first listen are Pricey, Time Capsule, and Can't Help Myself (however I do enjoy Walk - it's the first title track in a while that hasn't had to grow on me). Overall, this is AOTY. This is eveything I wanted from 127 and more.
