It's hard to put into words why this album is so fantastic but I tried.
She's standing in her own truth as an artist and making sure her songs come across INTENTIONAL and fully fleshed out. It's not a case of throw away predictable formulas the entire album but so many unexpected moments. Whether it's how she uses language or how her duets are set up. Her and Sam demolished that song and brought something so new with the wall of sound harmonies.
She managed to make something that's her own sound and feel without staying deep in the Ariana sound you found all over K-pop. LOVE her low range also.
SO IMPRESSED! The title track also serves its purpose, especially video wise.

2024-06-22 22:55:49 +0000 UTCall im going to say is that the girlies are really giving this year and this comes from a boy group stan lol. the boy group albums have not been hitting as much as the girlies. i really didn't enjoy her first solo that much because i felt that it lacked a little depth but THIS is MUSIC baby. i really enjoyed this album and i could feel her presence and identity very strongly.

I guess I've been associating her with her Twice image too much (a group I'm not that close to tbh so that may be my fault). Really liked this project of hers, I see her in a new light. She's definitely grown as an artist and is still growing. This mini has shown how she has matured. The vocals were also very nice from start to finish. And the last song? Heaven

2024-06-19 21:50:51 +0000 UTCthe pop album wasn't my cup of tea, BUT OHMYGOD DID NAYEON ENTER THE STUDIO MAD AS HELLLL FOR THIS COMEBACK- the r&b tracks were sooo good and even though some of the songs were in English, they didn't necessarily feel inauthentic because you can tell she put work in with her vocal delivery. it feels like JYP told her this is the only comeback she's gonna get as a solo artist and she had to put her whole pu- into it LMAOOO random side note, she reminds me a lot of winter how her upper range is so piercing, but there's so much presence in her mid and lower which she greatly showcased in this EP

That Raven reference is such a deep cut though lmfao

Really pleasantly surprised that in a solo work she managed to have a depth of sound which is so often absent from the group’s projects. Added quite a few songs to my phone. Wow.
