STRAY KIDS Maniac Seoul Concert
Added 2024-04-28 02:58:54 +0000 UTCThe person I was before and after this concert are two different people. No joke. This concert did something to me. I'M ACTUALLY gonna post-pone concert month for a minute now to digest this and maybe resume in a week.
No doubt the best concert I've probably ever seen, k-pop or not. WHICH is NUTS cos I've seen Beyonce/Mariah and more lol. This wins cos I'm seated and can hear and see everything perfectly lol but in truth Renaissance was insane.
ANYWAY.
I don't even know where to start. THE LIVE SINGING?! THROUGHOUT! With stamina and depth and power and confidence. THE FANTASTIC Band and rearranged songs. The tight choreo MIXED with freestyling moments where you can SEE they're having fun. They're the first group I've seen CONSTANTLY VIBE to their own music so much even when it's no their part. It's infectious and makes you enjoy the music. They're also the ONLY group that have performed songs I don't love SO well that I don't even want to skip.
I also nearly cried on CAMERA. WTF?! That's not like me. The outfits were FLAWESS and styled to PERFECTION for each member. The LED Screen was putting in the WORK and made the light work even more impactful for each song.
LEE KNOW was my MVP. FUCKING HELL, I saw a whole new side to him. I.N also, such extremes but I feel like I said more in the reaction and there's no other ways to verbalise what a transcendent experience this was for me. I didn't think I could love and enjoy a performance this much and I've seen so many great ones but this somehow combined EVERYTHING I loved before and added its own touch.
Their chemistry is beyond and is also what made me connect to them even more. I've also pledged to REWATCH this concert or maybe another city in the future because I want to experience this greatness again. There was more I wanted to remember to say whilst watching but I've forgotten now cos it's all encompassing but I HOPE how this concert made me feel is even CLOSE to being translated in these words.

Thank you so much for this reaction, i love watching things along side people and this gave me a chance to watch their full concert for the first time. Oh my goodness. their stamina is insane. I cant climb 1 flight of stairs without feeling like nahh, I cant keep walking. its absolutely insane.

I was living in Korea when the tour started so I got lucky enough to see this show twice & the energy was insane! I know people complain about Korean crowds but this was the first show after they lifted the COVID restrictions so we were all screaming our lungs out; it was definitely the best concert I went to while I was living there! The energy they exude when performing is contagious. I also saw their last encore show in LA & it was just as incredible which shocked me since it was the end of a long tour. I think the stage shows how truly special these boys are. The live band killed it; they added to the energy in the concert hall. This was held at Jamsil Indoor Hall which is one of the slightly smaller venues in Seoul which I think is why the camera work was so good. There are a few kpop groups I’ll see multiple times and Stray Kids is one of them! I hope one day you get a chance to see them!

If you plan on watching it, I recommend you watch the one in Osaka. The entire concert is on youtube, and they have a lot more energy there than the show in Nagoya.

My 16yo dog is sick, I can't sleep and I have to go to that shitty place (called a job) again tomorrow to make money so I can afford living. Just saw Enhypen this month and while I think they are growing in popularity they aren't totally there yet, and what do you know? No live band. It probably has to do with 💲💲 you know? Gotta be hella expensive to pack the instruments around city to city and then also pay the band members for every show.

I think they were diplomatic about it saying they "liked" it because it was their boss, but they also said they took it and changed and tweaked it to fit their style. They are credited first as lyricists and first as composers. So I think it's definitely safe to say they must've altered it a lot and it's for sure their song and in their style.

I reccomend one from english speaking country because you'll undestand what they are saying. They are really funny when speaking english and especially Han with Seungmin. Han also did a lot of freestyling on tour and all of it was just fire. His brain is insane.

They truly are PERFORMERS. they are the only kpop group that I am determined to travel for since they never come to my area. it’s a show you just can’t miss no matter how many miles away it is. you can tell they are a group of guys who love each other and love what they do and it shows so much in their performances. can’t wait to see them again at lollapalooza. if you were to choose another date to watch their Japanese shows are always the best imo. if you where to do skz week vocal leaning songs I feel like I haven’t seen you react to are gone away, hero’s soup, winter falls, and another day.

2024-04-28 17:39:49 +0000 UTCbangchan and han both grew up away from korea. han spent a large portion of his life away from korea as well as he lived in malaysia for a while, he didn’t go to school in sk so i think that influence of both chris and han being producers, composers and lyricists that spent time out of sk for a long while makes their music even more out there and different from most ! this concert was a lot of fun ! i’m enjoying watching these concerts with you sm 😭 gives me insane energy experiencing it along side you. also you being gagged by lee know this entire concert had me DEAD. he really was born for the stage, there’s smth so natural abt all of skz stage presence, energy and dancing but lee know in particular is a BEAST.

I was a huge stay back when this tour was happening and haven’t been keeping up with them as much recently but this truly reminded me why I love them so much and why they’re so special. I also really enjoyed the concert. I'm not a concert person but now I regret not getting tickets to see them on this tour when I had the chance.

He has talked on many occasions about how hard it was for him being a trainee for so long because he had formed bonds with others, only for them to leave. He's said before how how he feels like the boys saved him from a dark place, and he refused to let them be cut by JYP like others had. And that's why he treasures his bond with the boys so much and it's so clear how he loves them like his own children. Bang Chan has always been very open about how he feels and his emotions on lives, so I can imagine that translates into how he cares for them and allows them to be more open about how they feel too. 2. They GENUINELY love to make music and express themselves (and they're good at it!) Whether it's through their crazy production on their title tracks or meaningful lyrics on their b-sides (I.e. Secret Secret, Silent Cry) you can feel how much heart and creativity they put into their music. I think BECAUSE they have the freedom to create their own music and EXPRESS themselves the way they want to, with the people they care about most in the world, is why they genuinely enjoy their work so much. 3. Their music feels like a byproduct of their love for each other and their craft. After seeing their chemistry, their chaos, but also their meaningful conversations (i.e in 2Kids room and on Chan's lives) it's clear how personal their music is to THEM and how seriously they take expressing their OWN stories and experiences in it. Their songs feel so organic. I think it helps having Chan and Felix from the West because they are very forward about their feelings. A good song that shows their chemistry is FAM. The lyrics are quite funny and describe each of the members individually. And they also did a special concert last year 5star tour where your mans lee know has a solo stage 🤗 . Please so a skz week. Ive been blessed to see them perform live multiple times and they captivate me everytime. They are such a treat to see and i completely get the emotions and compassion you start to feel for them. Thier love for each other and performing just oozes off of them and infects you 😌

Experiencing this again I still feel the same way about how amazing they are live. If you ever get the chance to see them, I highly encourage it. Being there in person is a WHOLE other experience. Their energy is insane, live vocals are gorgeous, and the SET DESIGN is immaculate. Hands down the best concert I've ever been to!!!!

In my opinion, the best intro/opener of any concert I have ever seen. The anticipation it builds, they come out looking intimidating and powerful, and then right into maniac. Epic. I need Kpop groups to stop using red light all the time during concerts. Pls. Enough. Lol your comment of “This song is very Stray Kids”….that song was made by JYP himself…..hilariously one of my least fav Stray Kids song and an immediate skip for me (and this was before I even knew JYP made it) You know how kpop fans love to say “omg xxx is an all rounder” sorry but they all pale in comparison to Han. The true ACE. SKZ are the kings of skinny jeans/pants fr. You will never go wrong with watching Lee Know during any part of any choreo. The way he holds nothing back….unreal. Are you talking about the Gods menu mess up on Tiktok?? None of them had any idea what they were doing or what they were actually supposed to be doing…confusion all around. Ah nvm you answered the above question but since I went to the effort to pause the video and type that out (and did so again with this) I am leaving this all here. I love that rhaita sounding instrument present during God’s Menu. Not sure if thats what it is or if there is an equivalent in Korea but sounds so North African. I don’t care what no one has to say about God’s Menu, but it is that song and even it’s biggest haters would still find themselves in awe when SKZ performs it like THAT in concert. It is that bitch. You knowing all the words to Double Knot chorus was not on my bingo card….. TOP was an OST for an anime and not gunna lie, it has one of my favourite instrumentals. Definitely replay that at the gym whenever I want to get hyped up. You should check out the MV! Wellll they are coming to London to headline one of BST Hyde Park days! I heard production for that can sometimes be on the scale of a full concert. Otherwise, they won’t be in the UK for the rest of 2024. But maybe you want to save your first time seeing them in an actual concert which is probably more intimate than a festival. That is hilarious that you loved Boxer bc in my opinion Encore was PERFECT except for Boxer! Or more like Boxer should not have been the ending. For the rest of the tour Haven was the ending song and it was amazing. I just think about everything Bang Chan went through to get to being on that stage. Seeing his friends come and go. Not wanting to get close to people because they would eventually get cut. Then he gathers this band of stray kids and welcomes them, embraces them and wow look at what they have achieved. I am so glad you checked this out, because it allowed me to relive my Stray Kids discovery. You know those times where you are like “I wish I could listen to/watch this for the first time again”. Like go back and relive those emotions you had experiencing something life changing? Maniac tour was it for me. It is the best tour I have ever seen and is yet to be topped (sorry to say even by SKZ themselves). Like you mentioned the choreo, the pacing, the liveliness, the energy, the charisma, the interaction. It was peak. My vote is you download that 18GB monster and watch it again in all its Blu Ray glory. Looking forward to SKZ week this week hehe.

But I think you really nailed it when you said being self produced makes their concerts even more special. There’s an obvious love, comfortability and passion when they perform and I think a big part of that is those are their songs, their experiences. They love what they do, love performing and it’s infectious! When I saw maniac tour live in concert I actually did cry so I get the feeling.

2024-04-28 04:13:30 +0000 UTComg i'm so happy that you enjoyed it so much! i feel like stray kids concerts are just so special, the amount of genuine chemistry combined with the confidence they have in each other as well as themselves and their own raw abilities is just so enjoyable to watch. i think that their concerts have always especially stood out to me because for me personally their concert performances are like 10x better than their award show performances. i think it's because in some of their award show performances they can get a bit carried away with their props and making a big spectacle to the point where it almost does the opposite and takes away from the performance. the live band also makes the concerts better than award shows obviously haha anyway, i just think it's so great to watch them really shine and to me they are one of the best examples of a group that doesn't need any bells and whistles to deliver amazing performances. thank you very much for taking the time to react to this, very excited to watch and experience this one with you :)

As for other concerts of theirs, there are some fan cams of US concerts that are fun. The LA one Seungmin has fun getting STAYs to swear. Lol. You will definitely see more of his fun personality and more expression. It’s a totally different vibe…almost like they’re more free because there aren’t as many social constraints, maybe? The link that I posted with the other content…the 5 Star dome tour is in Japan and the venue is huge. Japan STAYs are such a great crowd, too.

I need every group to have a live band. It adds so much more to the experience. Side note: I saw Stray Kids live first before seeing Twice. I was pleasantly surprised to see Twice also added their live band section. I saw Itzy live next and there was no live band section. They'll be here in June so I'll see if they upgraded with the band.
