2024-04-29 11:48:56 +0000 UTCAs an enjoyer of man/woman and their guitar type of music, I think Mujin's voice is great but his songwriting is not among the best. Overall, I enjoy his music still, since this is my go-to genre for casual listening, but his music was never likely to convert you (as you correctly realized beforehand as well) As an aside, it is nice that you've become my favourite kpop reactor even though our go-to tastes for easy listening is so completely different. It speaks perhaps to the fact that its so rare to find genuine reactors. More reactors should realize that they need to be like you and that this job requires a bit of backbone like what the old newspaper critics/reviewers used to have. Of course, that old model had its own issues as those critics ended up reviewing all sorts of things they had no interest in (due to media monopoly). But a reactor/critic hybrid is what I think a lot of people actually want

It sometimes feels like there's a blurred line between the verses and the choruses, like the verses don't have enough time to settle before the chorus hits again. I don't find myself going out of my way to listen to Mujin's songs but whenever I need a boost of energy to lighten the mood, I listen to his songs. But regardless, I really do enjoy his voice in his show and how he can demonstrate his techniques in all the different songs he sings in the duets. Thanks for the video!
