He definitely has a powerful tool there and his technical shortcomings are not as severe as what I saw in Taehyun's mujin service but I also think Tae has improved a lot since then.
He chose the right songs also because they showed different parts of his voice too and how intentional he is depending on the mood he wants to deliver so he clearly is conscious of what he wants to convey and I love that.

I just love how authentic your reactions are <3 I was wondering about you reacting to their old b-sides? I think you've mentioned you know most of their title songs but i would love to seeing your opinion about their earlier releases.

The way he sounds reminds me a lot of Jun from SVT at times. Especially in how they approach belting. I wonder if it has anything to do with the time he spent in China in his youth

2024-04-05 20:10:25 +0000 UTCAhhhh Kai Kamal, I'm so glad he was able to show off his vocals even more through this show!! He did such a great job and I actually really loved the butterfly song, I feel like it complimented his vocals the most. I also really wanted him to cover Benson Boone [he is currently dominating the US charts with his song ‘Beautiful Things’] since he belts in a lot of his songs, and since I know Kai enjoys a good belt. I find it interesting that his voice sounds really different between English and Korean (at least to me it does) while singing. I feel like Kai's talking voice is also unique though bc even Koreans say he has a slight accent and obviously when he speaks English some lines are clear but most have a heavy Korean accent. I think it's just Kai not being that confident in his English and getting nervous when asked about it because obviously, he looks very white. A quick rundown of the Huening family. Kai's dad is white and of German descent but was born in Brazil before his family immigrated to the US to become legal citizens [Kai's mom is 100% korean]. They had the oldest sibling Lea [soloist, influencer, actor, and model] in Texas then moved to Hawaii two years later where they had Kai, before moving to China literally two months after Kai was born. Went to Korea and had the youngest Hiyyih before going back to China. So you could say they are kinda like ‘third culture kids’ bc they only knew Chinese growing up. They didn't learn Korean till moving there at the ages of 10, 8, and 6. The oldest Lea still speaks Chinese and English pretty often but Kai and Hiyyih do not remember much about it and consider Korean their main and first language. Kai and Hiyyih said they take English lessons from their dad over the phone and make him only speak in English to them, lol.

2024-04-05 17:31:09 +0000 UTCi think its because i havent seen many videos of huening singing, but i was really surprised how powerful his voice is ! the like a butterfly cover was so refreshing compared to other mujin services in my opinion because i really like rock and there arent many rock songs on here. i really liked how he showcased a lot of his skills with the different songs. 💗
