Mujin Service Keeho!

That refix of killin' it was everything I wanted and more. This show continues to be my favourite because you can HEAR and see sooo much!!

I now know exactly what's bugged me about his singing and I hope i managed to verbalise it clearly. Even with those negatives, he still has plenty of traits that definitely work for him!

Enjoy!

Glad you commented. Wait who are the crazy vocalists from their company? Feel free to DM your reply cos I'll forget to check back to this for sure. Also yes him doing those runs is not something a lot of idols do period. There's so much potential there!

Koko3op

super late to this lol as a keeho vocal lover or just a vocal lover in general I loveee this video, I might not see his voice the same way again lol but its definitely a great eyeopener. I like to add a tidbit. Keeho has said before that his company wanted to change his vocal tone/color completely, he ofc advocated for himself, but after hearing you maybe it was their way of helping him find himself more. I know in his company they have crazy vocalists (2nd best in kpop next to SM imo) so maybe they heard something they wanted to "fix". They could've definitely worded it better the way keeho describes it, seemed to make him doubt himself at the time bc they were pretty persistent abt it but they eventually gave up. also wanted to throw this link in here a recent interview where keeho and theo sang 'sad song' "sadly". Literally jumped when keeho did this run not bc it was anything crazy, it just came out of nowhere. You don't get to see a lot of that from keeho from album listens or mvs yk. Its 20secs but I've only ever heard him do something like that in a practice room. 1:05-1:26 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QETGBcV-XHg&list=PL5ufdwhR2MFic93_chbvSJbY8TTJIV1th&index=4&t=88s damn really just makes me hope we get to see more growth from him soon

Love keeho! In the duet service(And july),the original sound has a harmony I think? I’m really bad with telling pitches apart and have no such relative pitch at all. Every time the chorus is sung(“ I can give you the world”)in the original song the harmony’s make it sound very dissonant. Like it so essential to the color of the track. I think the harmony descends by like a half step chronomatically (like I said probably wrong can’t hear pitches well). And it really crunches and it’s the whole identity of the song. Maybe cuz I listen to the original so much but I feel like it was such a miss that they didn’t harmonize a little for the chorus.

Will do, my thoughts are like a run on sentence so I have to be mindful when I comment (lol), and thank you for replying.

Ahhh thank you so much!! Very interesting points you've added there, it truly shows how psychological singing is and all that makes sense. Also as much as I love long comments if you can try and added some more spacing and paragraphs that'll be great so it's a bit easier to read haha. Thanks

Went straight to the search bar to see this reaction, after just watching the Chenle post. Looking forward to watching! Keeho, has recently become one of my favorite vocalist in KPOP with just discovering him with P1Harmony's latest comeback, so I had to see if you had reacted. It could be that his tone, and style is so reminiscent of singers I have grown up with, that I find listening to him so comforting, but what I also love is it doesn't sound forced to me, it sounds like he has studied a lot of greats to hone what was already naturally gifted to him...it feels effortless. And I 1000% agree that this rendition of "Killin' It" needs to be released, asap! I also notice the pull he does, and I wonder if it's because he has to hold back a bit being that his voice is quite colorful for "KPOP"(a very R&B coloring) and could be considered too much, so I wonder if it has become habitual, because when I watch their content and he is singing randomly he seems much more relaxed and free to express vocally when he's being playful. I also notice with many KPOP singers the genre tends to love high ranges, high keys even if the singers are naturally stronger in the mid to low. I especially notice this for the foreign artist who then sing in their native language and sing lower, but when singing Korean sing much higher and are often required to. You made a great point about the closeness on the mic, and I saw in their content that they call him loud quite often, I wonder like he stated about still being very new to the culture makes him hyper aware as well, so I wonder if it is a self conscious reaction to hold back, as like you stated ones singing voice is quite vulnerable. With him being still quite young, and someone who seems to like working on his skill, I can only imagine how much better he will get with time, and hopefully feels more relaxed and free to express all the colors of his voice and not hold back. Anyhoo thank you for reacting, I really appreciate the insightful responses to what you are hearing, you can tell that you take it all in, with great intention to breakdown what is being heard. As a singer myself who is still constantly learning about my own voice, the insight is greatly appreciated.

Yess I reacted to his killing voice

Kim Bumsoo is gonna be next weeks guest, I hope you react to it. He's known as one of Korea's best singers/vocalists - sort of like a male Sohyang. The preview of the duet goes crazy https://www.youtube.com/shorts/HW_pRuvS_9Y

i loveee keeho’s tone sm & definitely noticed him pulling back a lot here but like you said, it was definitely intentional for what he wanted his sound to be like for the songs he chose!! he actually does belt on quite a bit of their songs as an adlib or leading into the last chorus of title tracks, like for their Scared title track! iirc he was more open with his voice on his john legend cover if you ever wanna check that out if you haven’t seen it!

alyssa

Haha love that!! Yeah he definitely has some gooood foundations

Koko3op

Haha I love this! I'm glad my thoughts are clear enough to be understood!

Koko3op

I haven’t heard any P1Harmony songs but his voice is beautiful! I can see what you mean re tension! Now I want to try to find a clip of him belting bc it sounds like he has so much potential

Sarah

girl I didnt know I signed up for a music class when I clicked on this video? the way I got so excited when I understood what you were pointing out lol

Dom

I also think that with Keeho, I absolutely love his tone and the basics of his voice, so I can see so much potential if he worked on those parts of his technique. Whereas a lot of other singers don't have the base, and then also have those issues, so I kind of lose hope with them, if that makes sense? I really do hope he works on it, cause i agree - when he's more open in the lower end of his register, its so gorgeous 🙌 (side note, caught myself literally physically nodding along to your explanations in this video 😂😂😂 i guess that's how much i agree 🤷🏼‍♀️ hhahah)

life of nicole

If that's how Keeho likes his arrangements, I'll be waiting front row for some solo work 😂😍

life of nicole

I don’t even remember don’t worry about it!

Koko3op

Hahaha omg thank you so much! Stuff like this makes me feel good too!

Koko3op

omg now that I’ve seen your response to the recommendation, I’m sorry for requesting last time, but I can see what you’re saying by how he doesn’t open his mouth much and I appreciate you for reacting sorry again 😞

Miracle White

you can be a great singer and still have some negative parts THANK YOU not everyone gets that.

Jordie

you really are the only reactor that gets me. you catch everything I do and we agree on a lot and it makes me so happy lmao. one if not the only reactor that doesn’t hold back and ACTUALLY tells the truth without sugarcoating 😩 🫀

Jordie

Exactly he’s still a smart singer and seems very intentional which I like!

Koko3op

Not Keeho's runs fixing your hiccups 🤭 but yeah I agree with you and the thing is I know for a fact that he CAN open his mouth up and make big sounds but some singers value style over openness. As long as it's a choice I'm fine with it especially cuz he never belts SUPER high while being closed to damage his voice in any concerning way.

Fadi - moonlight

I hear you! It definitely isn’t the worst thing tbh

Koko3op

Hdhsgshshs yeah that threw me off!

Koko3op

You see, although I completely agree that he can open up his notes more often; personally one of my favourite parts of his voice is how he pulls his phrases back in.

seungtakho

It’s a major pet peeve of mine when people leave an irrelevant comment asking for something I’m already aware of lol. I’d prefer you DM me if it has nothing to do with the reaction because I find it a little disrespectful.

Koko3op

ohh his tone is interesting. has the crow sound without being annoying and also love his music taste, but the cursive pronunciation gave me the ickkk

kendricklmao

And the SMP floor performance 😫

Kenyan drake

Can you please react to Ten’s album and the title track “Nightwalker”
